Where is the warm weather?

This morning they said it would get up to 70? The kids are even starting to question spring and maybe even summer? I put out a short sleeve top for Em today and she asked if I really thought it would be warm enough for this. When I told her what I heard on the radio she asked me if I really believed that! HA She's right I let her change!

So what's happening here? I have grilled dinner every day this week so far! I'm trying to figure out what to grill tonight? Last night was Thai Chicken Skewers. Hmmm Turkey Burgers or Italian Sausage? No more skewers for awhile. I think mine got a little dried out when I opened the grill they were flaming! OOOPPPPS! Abbi and I are going to have lunch with Dave and maybe we'll head over to Deerpark I have a return to do. Last night scrapping started again after a what seemed like forever 2 week hiatus. Really it seemed like months! Well I'm off to do Laundry yet again! Have a great day and just try to stay warm!

Happy Memorial Day!

So the rain started around 1am this morning it knows we have a new grill, it knows I want to cook out, it knows the kids want to wash my car, it knows we are all off one more day before going back to work and school! Hopefully it will stop long enough for me to grill some burgers. Emily was up most of the night with me while I colored some images for assignments she made her own cards. She's stamping and cutting out hay bails. She has a plan, I find that sooooo cute!

Woo HOOO! Purkey is in there and NEW Imaginsce Scenic Route, Lil Davis and Chatterbox! Lots of Happy Bright Colors! I love it!

Here I took one of my clear Maya Road key chains and attached it to my card after I stamped it with Staz On. I also added rub ons to it. The stamps are all justjohanna Oddbird Planet and the paper is Dreamstreet Hugs and Kisses! I colored everything with Sakura Glaze Pens. HA this is what traffic is like around here! Even the birds are like this right now everyone has spring fever! Have a Safe and Happy Holiday!

It's Official!

Johanna has published the list of new and returning justjohanna designers. I'm proud to be part of this group. The designers here are AMAZING and helpful and friendly and just all around wonderful!

This has been a fun weekend so far. Yesterday we got to spend time wth Family at Marc and Paula's for a cookout for Matthew. Today we got a new grill and set it up then went out for dinner(HA) since well it just got finished at 6pm thanks to the non-english directions. At least it's here I'm cooking out every day this week I think! The girls played outside all day yesterday and today it's been so beautiful. They are leaving silt in the bath tub at night I swear!

On a a side note I'm moving on to Round 4 of the Gauntlet! Phew! This last challenge had to be about something we love(not a person or animal). I love a lot of things but chose to go with something I use everyday! Check out all the other amazing entries HERE! And look for whats coming with round 4! Woo Hoo!

Round 2

This was my shaped card creation for the Gauntlet! I have to say the gallery was flooded with brilliant cards I can't even imagine how hard it was to choose. Speaking of Scrapperie. Randi got her first kit from them this weekend well after she got back from her family time. She was very excited yesterday on the phone telling me about everything. I cannot wait to see it! I wish we were scrapping this week. I'm having withdrawls. Dianne and I were trying to figure out if we could go over to the neighbor that was getting her mail and explain we needed to open the box to check to make sure it was SAFE.....really we're just looking out for her.....really we are..... We decided they wouldn't understand our need to tear into her mail! HA

Anyway about my little card. Well it's actually approx 6x6. After enlarging justjohanna's balloon I cut it out of a card then paper pieced on top of that the details. The riders in the balloon are all justjohanna friends. Some of them are happy to be traveling together, some not so much! I did color them with my glaze pens to make them pop!

I think I mentioned

I was doing the contest over at Scrapperie The Gauntlet? So our first weeks challenge was to share something about what makes us, us. Happy sad etc. I chose to do things that comfort me. Here is my layout. The paper is Cherry Arte the felt is American Crafts, Title Heidi Swapp and Making Memory Rub Ons and Making Memory Bling and my white pen. Be sure to check out the other entries they were oh sooooo amazing. Luckily this week my head wasn't on the chopping block since everyone got to move to round 2. Cross your fingers, toes, legs etc. for next week!

Last Week of Quiet!

It doesn't seem possible but this is the last week Ab's is in school. And in a few more weeks her sister will be home for the summer! All peace and quiet as I know will be over! Oh well I have 2 days to psych myself up for it! Gotta get a move on I suppose! Deep Breaths Deep Breaths! It's Monday again and that means a new challenge over at Linnecards. Today we created cards using sketch #16 found in the gallery. I had to use Birdie Bits by Dreamstreet Papers it just arrived and it's way to fun to just sit there and look at me! The stamps are justjohanna, You Rock, Kim's Barrett Bird (she cracks me up)and the Thought Bubble. I did use my glaze pens by Sakura, love those, and lots of chalk ink! Where did my week go????

Wow it's been busy! Staff Appreciation at school and deadlines, spring and Birthdays. Things are ending and beginning all at the same time! May is a crazy month. Here is a card I made using justjohanna's Earth stamp. I colored it with prismacolor pencils and then glittered them all up with stickles! Fun Fun! Waiting for it to dry was not so much but then I'm impatient!

So in the last 2 weeks Emily has been on the morning announcements 3 times. They film as it airs live on a TV in each classroom. She's very excited. Last week she and her friend Gaby did the announcements this week they were picking raffle prizes for the teachers and staff. I love that while our kids are on they let us go in and watch that's nice!


Today Dave is going for his echo? Hopefully? He had Dad's and doughnuts at school too so he took the day off and took the snowblower in for repair. He thinks the snow has finally ended? HA Crazy Man! Ok off to run some errands and rush back to do some stuff for the newsletter. Have a good one!

Second NSD Challenge

So it's past time for the last challenge of the day over at Linnecards! Everyone has until Monday to get their entries in. Be sure to post on the challenge thread when you do to be entered in the drawing for some great prizes! Also don't forget the sale going on in the store!


This challenge is about using your favorite tools. I couldn't decide so here I used my Sweetwater Scribbles Templates, My Rub On Tool and my pens as tools. To make this cute thank you card!The arrows I cut up and popped out after tracing them with my scribbles template on the reverse side. Above all have fun!

NSD Challenges and More

So today is National Scrapbook Day! And over at Linnecards there are 13 challenges for you to play in and sales GALORE! Here is my challenge sample for the #4 Challenge to Scrap Your Mom. I did a pick of my Mom and Abs. I don't have tons of pics of her and the girls but the ones I do are always some sort of celebration since we don't get to see her as often as we'd like! I used lots of Basic Grey Blush here. I'm just so pleased Abs is smiling! Grandma's can do that to a girl! Check out the other challenges on the MB and in the GALLERY! It's bound to be a fun day! I'll be back with my #13 Challenge later! Just got get your Scrap on! Also today I signed up and am going to attempt to do the GAUNTLET Contest over at Scrapperie! I'm not sure I'll complete it but I'm trying to push past a little scrappers block and this seems like just the motivation I need! So here is my entry. The pics are from fun in the sun in New Buffalo last year! Can't wait for things to green up here! At least it's a good day to stay inside and play with paper and stamps! Woo Hoo! Phew the week is almost over!

I'm sure the weekend and next week will be just as busy but there is something about Friday it's like a light at the end of a tunnel. Deceiving as it may be! HA So this week went fast. Emily and I missed her Open House her Dad and Sister went I stayed home with her. Unfortunately she was home for 2 days with the Stomach Flu which lead into 2 days off of school for Teacher In Service. Sooooo it's been extremely long without a smidge of silence all week. Poor kid woke up every morning this week asking to go to school. She's all better thank goodness at least she can enjoy some of her days off a bit.

Tonight is my technique class. I'm excited I'm doing Versamark and Spritzers so that should be fun! Then I'm baking the rest of the weekend making giant cookies for all the staff at the school next week for Staff Appreciation.

OOOH and how could I forget NSD is here! You know what that is right? National Scrapbook Day! The day your actually required to scrapbook!! By Law! Or at least that's what we tell our spouses! Linnecards is having an event Tomorrow with fun challenges and Prizes! You'll want to check it out! Also she has all the new Basic Grey which is selling out fast so make sure to check that as well!

Ok so the cards above are using a justjohanna stamp the large Lacy Circle. This is fun stamp. I like it for journaling and embellishing layouts but there are many other fun things to do with it as you can see!
