Wonderful Wednesday!

So far so good this week.  The kids are a little worked up about getting out of school in under 2 weeks but other than that it's been great.  We have all decided for Emily's birthday we would give her a room makeover.  This should be fun finding what we need to make it just the way she wants it.  And nooooo more PINK she is to old for that!  Green is her color of choice!  She has band/orchestra auditions this week and then "THE" talk/movie at school this week!  EEEEK  Mommy is scared,  I might not be able to handle "The Talk".  We'll see how it goes.  On a way less nail biting note.  Scrapping/Crafting tonight!  I'm excited to get some things done for the end of the school year!

So the card above is for my Thursday Discovering Die cuts class!  Fun Fun Fun ideas with Die Cuts.  Be sure to check out the new June Calendar up at the website for more classes.

On a side note.  Joanna, Thank You So much for all of your Hermit Crab advice.  I didn't know how to reach you.  But we wanted to say it was much appreciated!

Crabby

No we're not really crabby here!  But we have crabs.  Hermit Crabs.  Ok we actually only have 1 crab.  We purchased 2 but one of them didn't survive.  It was sad.  That's him in the bottom photo.  His name was Perry!  His brother is Sherman, he's a little more shy, he's the dark brown shell on the right in the cup when they came home from the pet store.   Dave studied up on the Hermit Crab and gave us all 5 page Essays to read(shhhhh I skimmed, seriously....).  For 2 weeks before we brought them home he prepared their home the right sand the right water the right humidity etc. We talked about names for a long time.  For awhile D.B. Cooper(the kids watched a show on the history channel and got all excited) was in the running to be Sherman but that name lost out to some character in a book Emily and her friends are reading.   Then there was the big day we drove up to a pet store way north of here to buy our pets.    I tell you the excitement around here is never ending.  We've had Sherman for about 3 weeks now.  Perry didn't quite make it a week.  But we weren't absolutely sure he wasn't molting for awhile.  So he stayed in the tank until we were sure.  Sherman is doing well it seems it's hard to tell with hermit crabs.  He burries himself in the sand for a couple of days sometimes.  Other times he's pearched on top of the log cave thing like he's going to dive off or he's just looking out over his domain?  He loves fruit and soaking in the salt water.  His shell is so bumpy he can't walk forward into the bowls and such he has to hike himself up with his back legs and pull on his shell to get it to follow.  Hopefully he'll choose a different shell type when he molts.

The kids, well I think they thought they would be more interactive like hamsters?  We still need to go and get a couple of more crabs though.  They are apparently very social creatures, with their own species they live in colonies of hundreds in the wild(this is all I got from skimming :-))

So that's the story of our new pets/pet.  Have a wonderful day!  More projects coming soon!

How was your Weekend?

Somehow we seemed to go from Winter to Cold to Rain to 90 and humid here!  So our weekend was great well if your into sunny and hot!  I'm not sure where our spring went?  I remember thinking 2 weeks back I was still too worried about a frost to plant flowers and yesterday I was sad I didn't have any on this bright sunny summer day.  Oh well I'll get it done by this weekend!    Anyway we had Copic Classes and Dance Recital this weekent.  Copic 101 and 201 were great nice groups for both classes.  The kids and Dave went to dress rehersal while I taught and then brought me lunch between classes they were so cute!   We grilled steaks(sort of) for dinner and had our first corn on the cob of summer.  The steaks were more FLAMED than grilled since I found them on fire soon after I put them on the grill and the corn on the cob was expensive and a little bland, but you know what we ate all of everything and loved it since it was the first time of the season! HA  Sunday was the actual Recital and the girls did FABULOUS!  Emily had a staring roll so she got to move to a dressing room out of the cafeteria with the little girls.  I didnt' get to see her much of the show but when I was taking Abbi's class to and from the stage.  I did get to sneak backstage and watch her tap!   Grandma came to watch and stayed for lunch afterwards.   Everyone was exhausted when it was all over but it was a super successful dance season with our park district.  Now we can walk home from school  on Wednesdays since we don't have dance right after school anymore!  Woo Hoo well for the next 2 Wed anyway!  HA

The card above is a style card I made last summer as a sample for our LSS which I didn't work for at the time.  Then I made it again as gifts for friends, teachers, family around the holidays with some locally grown honey.  And now I'm adding it to my Etsy Shop mostly because I love to color this hive so much!

Hope your having a wonderful Monday and Wonderful Sunny Summerlike Day!  I know I am I just brought in the sun tea and I'm going to settle down and create with a tall icey glass!

Another Card Set

Real quick, I'm so behind in picture sharing.  These are the note cards I made for Emily's teacher for Teacher Appreciation.  She's a huge Cubs fan and it was fun to do these!  Again playing with my cricut and my trusty old coluzzle!

Poague All Dressed Up

Friday is here. This weekend is a busy weekend with work and dress rehersal and such. I can't wait for Sunday and the Show! Saturday I have 2 classes Copic 101 and Copic 201. I can't wait to share the Airbrush System with our customers! Woo Hoo!

Speaking of sharing I thought I would share a photo of Dave all dressed up in his Fancy Civilian clothes. He was so excited about his most recent reinactment because of his new suit. It was just icing that his new hat arrived the day before he left for Missouri. I think yesterday was the first day since Sunday that he didn't tell me it was a great event! HA He's all happy!

Hope everyone has a Fabulous weekend!

Discovering Die Cuts

It's been just amazing here the last couple of days.  Windows open fresh air flowing!  Big honkin bugs flying around!  EEEEK  Bugs freak me out!  Unless they are like the butterflies above.  Punched out of paper!  HA  This card is for my Discovering Die Cuts Class next Thursday.  I love this Tim Holtz Alteration Die.  The birdage is perfect for a lot of things.  Here I  painted it and added the butterflies out of Jenni Bowlin Papers. I've been dreaming of this card!  Sad Sad Sad!

Well among other things that is!  Like this weekend is our first Dance Recital of the season!  The kiddos look so cute in their costume and Em has a solo during her class which is cool!  I'm excited to see them dance!  Ok off to play with my Copic Airbrush System!   Gotta work up some notes for Copic 201!  Have a great day!

Copic 101 This Weekend

We had a fun weekend I should take a photo of our Garage Sale Day Haul.  The girls and I had lots of fun then picked up Dianne to hit a few more later.  We ran into old friends and caught up and everything.  Later the girls went to a Sleepover!  Woo Hoo I was alone in the house overnight for the first time in almost 10 years.  Dianne did come over and have dinner with me and scrap, well we laughed and giggled and ate anyway!  HA  Sunday was nonstop birthdays, play dates and finally Daddy came home from his trip. He was very excited, he was the bell of the ball in his new historically accurate dress suit!  And lucky for him his brand new hat finally arrived!  Apparently everyone wanted to dance with him!  Even the Sherrif!

I can't believe it's Wednesday?  I have no idea where the last 2 days went?  EEEK

Anyway this weekend is Copic 101 and 201 so I'll be posting more samples for those.  Here is another project for 101 we will be working with yellows Y02 and Y06.  Love this flower from Hero Arts.  I'm excited about these classes running consecutively I have a couple of students taking them back to back that should be fun!  OOOOH and the June Calendar is up on the website plus you can see what is left for may over there as well!

Teacher Thanks!

This is a card set I made for Abbi's Teacher for Teacher Appreciation.  Below is the Thank You Card for all of the Teachers Gifts.
I'm trying ot use my Cricut more I still have to get used to the sizes of things!

Stamping 101

It's time to shed some light on stamping!  This is a sample for the Stamping 101 Class!  Love this card and thei stamp!  Pretty Pretty!  Stamping 101 is Tuesday the 18th from 11:00 - 12:30 and Monday the 24th from 6:00 - 7:30.  This will be a fun interactive hands on class to help you become a better stamper!

So the week is finally at an end!  The rain has finally finished up for awhile as well!  I'm excited to just hang out this weekend and not really do much of anything except drive the kids around!  We may do a bit of Garage Saling tomorrow morning and the kids and I are going to start a project for Father's Day other than that it's all quiet!  Well that is if the girls will stop fighting with each other!  Arggggh and now it's over clothing!  This is just a preview of what is to come I'm sure!  Fun Fun Fun!  I'm trying to get them to say things to each other like "Please don't wear my good white sweater outside in the mud." Instead of TAKE OFF MY SWEATER AHHHHHHHHHHH.   HA  Ok off to pick out papers for our next project!  Have fun!

We may need a submarine!

HA it's been rainy here for days and days now.  This card may be totally appropriate soon!  Heee Heee!  To be fair I love a good thunderstorm!  Not one that lasts for days and days but once in awhile!   And another positive our Lawn looks Fabulous!

Ok so the Amuse Submarine card is for Copic 101 this month.  Our Colors this month are Yellow!  Y02 and Y06.  We are also practicing using our blending pen to lighten our B0000 on the windows to make them look more glassy.    The next Copic 101 class is the 22nd.  There will also be a 201 class that day!  Check out the Calendar Here

The Heart & Home Mini album is coming up this weekend!  I'm so excited for this album I love it!

Happy Mothers Day belated!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Mothers Day!  I know I did.  I slept in!  Then got lots of candy and cards and lovely pictures with my coffee.  Played on the WII played with my crafty stuff.  Then the family took me out to dinner to McCormick & Scmicks love love loved it!  I even got dessert upside down apple pie!  YUMORRIFIC!    Before that this weekend I got lots of tulips it was quite nice!  Saturday Night we made homemade pizzas and hung out all evening.  Friday night Dave and I went downtown to the Gage and met some friends of his from College.  We had a wonderful time with such Warm and Friendly friends at one of our Favorite places.  All and all the weekend ROCKED!  This morning I got up and did  NOTHING besides take the kids to school!  I finally started working around 10:30 but still!  It was awesome to have some quiet time!  I'm teaching Fantastic Folds tonight!  Can't wait to share my creations!

Last card from my Vintage Class at the store.  This one is my own design.  Totally turned out how I wanted after I figured it out!

Very Masculine

This is one of my all time favorite techniques.  The Herringbone Tech is from Technique Junkies.  I have to research which month?   It's ideal for using up scraps.   I do it so often I can sit in front of the TV and piece these together.  This particular card was for the Vintage Card class using Graphic 45 a Proper Gentleman and the new Hero Arts stamps.  Along with some older Maya Rd. Stamps and my new wrought iron border punch!  Love it!

Starting to Feel Better

After going straight from the Flu into a head cold I'm begining to feel better!  It was rather icky here for a few days!  Luckily I was the only one that had the flu.  Emily has the sinus infection thing though.  It must be allergy related!  This week has been rainy and cool so I'm sure it will pass when the weather does.

The card above was from my Vintage Card Class!   Love these new stamps from Hero Arts.

Roses Roses

There is a learning curve with these roses.  My first one looked like a bowl!  HA!   I finally got it though and was able to add them to a card for my Vintage Card class at CraftFancy!  They turned out very pretty using the new 7Gypsies papers.  Also used Glitz Designs and American Craft Stamps,  Coordinations paper for Jenni Bowlin, Spellbinders, lace and pearls.
