Happy Week So Far

So things have been going AoK this week! Having fun with the girls and a couple of hours on the floor in the girls room and I don't feel like such a failure as a housekeeper. It's just all those little barbie and polly toys! Their Crazy!

Yesterday Em went to play in the afternoon with Haley and I got lots of my State Can done for the swap. It's darn cute! Gotta finish up the words and it's outta here!

Got an email from Paula asking about a playdate for Emily with Olivia(yes their cousins but Olivia is busy :-))! Which turned into bring both kids over on Friday you and Dave go out we'll watch them and can Emily stay the night! How Cool is that! I have a date and I didn't even have to plan well I had to make the reservations at Ruth's Chris but that wasn't hard at all!

Last night I did get to go to the online chat with Teresa McFadden from Foofala I was very happy! And I finally mounted that one stamp set I was terrified of. Everyday Flexible Phrases! Yeah if you can figure out how to mount it! LOL Then it's flexible.

I ordered lots on the Croppers Cottage big Sale which I was a little sad later about since I read there was going to be a Lil Davis contest and I don't have any! I love these contests you know gets me moving! Anyway got a call from Kim(she is very sweet and she really has a voice!) that some things were sold out because of the amount of people buying. Anyway I got the opportunity to change my order and get some Lil Davis stuff! I'm very excited! That one I get to play in the contest(yippee skippy) and two Kim was so kind to call me and let me know and give me choices how sweet is that.

Contests - why oh why do I love them so???? Not really sure. They make me work harder and really think about what I'm doing I guess. I'm always amazed at how fun I find these not a competetive person with others. I really just want to see if I can do better against myself I guess. Like I think I'm going to try for MMM ok I know I am I have the pics picked out the journaling started paper and design are in the works. I'm in. I don't expect to win having only 2 things ever published. But I do think I'm going to get some Freaking TERRIFIC layouts out of it and I'm having fun planning! Plus it is making me work harder for my journaling! Which is my goal this year to actually do journaling that doesn't just read here is the kid playing with the toy! Yadda yadda yadda! Like someone can't figure that out by looking! I'm also working on my handwriting now I don't know if I'll use it in my masters entry don't think I like it all that much but I am feeling better about adding it! However everytime I do I hear Sandy Genovese saying "and I see you used your own handwriting here.....I think that is so important!!!!" If I could just get her voice out of my head I would be happy to hand journal.

And on that note since, you know who is still napping. Banging my head on wood so as not to ginx myself! I'm going to go and get some stuff done! Actually work in my house so I can relax and scrap with my friends tonight! I LOVE WEDNESDAYS!!!!!

Have fun!

Soooo hot!

Oh well this summer is so darn hot. Barely any traffic for the Garage sale made about $200 total have tons left! My house is trashed I'm not even sure where to begin! The garage is trashed! And well I'm making a paint can! Woo Hoo and I sat out by the pool most of the morning while the girls splashed and played. I did of course take pictures of them being adorable! About a hundred or so. Gotta love the new camera! LOL someday I'll tone it down a bit! Below I sent pics of most everything we did last week and yesterday! We've been having fun!

Paula will love that I have her on here and sideways no less! I'll have to fix that! LOL
I forgot to take a pic of my ice cream cake I made for her with my new Betty Crocker pan! Way cool super easy!

Yesterday was painting today the pool most of the day and well tomorrow I think will be some school supply shopping and the post office I have a ton of stuff to go out! Plus some serious house cleaning!

I'm going to try to hit the chat at Wendi Speciale! I love Teresa McFayden and Foofala so it is high on my priority list. Washing dishes cleaning the kitchen very very low!!!!!! Laundry even lower! Sweeping and mopping well you get the idea! It's summer! I'm not into it! Plus it's 98 outside that's enough for me!

Actually there was a very nice breeze today but we all got lots of sun! And I think I will have to wash some clothes as all bathing suits are now dirty! Wait I have new ones stashed away! Woo Hoo! One more day!

Anyway must go negotiate more computer time with Dave so I can sit here for the chat!

Keep COOL!!!!!

On a Happier Note

The garage sale is coming along! And I got a call from the furniture company today after 4 messages and 2 emails(again with the service) after only waiting 3 months we might likely have new beds for the girls in 30 days. YIKES! Oh well I know their coming we're now waiting on a rail which is fine I want all the pieces! And we ordered online and got a great price so for that I expect about the service I'm getting. And they were extremely apologetic and polite on the phone. I did get the perfect hot pink sheets for the bed and when I got home I gotta tell you I couldn't have matched the other stuff any better if I had drug it with me to the store! Woo Hoo and onsale with all my 20% $5 off coupons at BB&B I almost got 1 set free! My drawer of coupons pays off again!

I've been scrapping like a mad woman lately that kit has me going. I love it I just pull pics that match the paper and go to town. I also got last night at the store never to be spoken of again the Scrapbooks Etc Inspiration book and it is very pleasant I can say I'll be using it for inspiration for good while now. Well worth the money. Wish I had purchased it at B&N LOL!

So I have much cleaning to do this afternoon and more pricing then I get to sit down and scrap tonight! I'm so excited I get to play! With all my friends here. And I'm making a special dessert for a special someone I'll take a pic when it's done for tomorrow! Don't want you know who to read it and know! LOL like that isn't telling!

Happy scrapping everyone!

Local Scrapbook Stores Do We Support Them?

So the field is narrowing. As far as local scrap shopping goes it seems. I had my worst customer service expierence yet at the store nearest me. Mind you I know better than to speak while I'm in that store I keep my mouth shut it just gets me attitude.

The thing that bothers me most about all of this is every single class I've attended or even crop we are reminded to support our LSS otherwise tomorrow they might not be there. This in my opinion does not give them the right to treat me like SH*T, talk down to me, or be mad at me because I am more informed about the industry than they are(or project to be). I'm sick of it and I'm not doing it anymore. If my LSS wants my support they will have to be nice to me period. I don't want free stuff or anything like that I just want them to be nice pleasant etc. This is my hobby, yes it's their livelyhood but their business issues whatever they may be should never dampen my excitement of my hobby nor should it ruin the fun of the shopping for my hobby. All this makes me appreciate the big chains more. At least I go into those craft stores with the knowledge that I probably couldn't get a question answered to save my life. That's fine I don't ask the questions and I know what I'm buying. They also don't stand in the middle of their store screaming at me that I'm wrong and then try to cover it up when they realize I might just be informed and know something not released to their customers yet. I would say the general public however any information I have about the scrapbooking/stamping industry comes from online and can be searched out by anyone I do not have an inside track to anything that anyone else doesn't already have. And I certainly don't know more than anyone else I just know about the specific things I'm interested in because YES THIS IS MY HOBBY it is fun for me(or it's supposed to be) and I'm an EXCITED consumer about things I am interested in!

I'm all for supporting the local small town stores but I refuse to be coerced into doing it when I get nothing but crap service! I will now shop at only 3 LSS and also M's, J's and Archivers. I know I'm blessed to have such a selection but really they are dropping like flies if this type of service keeps up. We'll see what happens after CHA since it's local here. I can honestly say this as a word of WARNING Be careful where you spend your money when your in town! Your likely to get your head bit off!

Ok enough enough enough. I have to get over it I know but I just can't seem to. I need to vent to everyone around me only everyone around me is under 6 and they just don't get customer service wait the 2 1/2 year old doesn't even understand shopping! She just wants to be a butterfly and have lollipops.

I'm going to end this hear and creat another post for more interesting topics!

Punch bowl recovered! Phew!

So last evening Dave and I had the wonderful job of climbing into the attic whilst it was still 90 degrees outside(preheated to roast inside). Oh my god I had no idea how much stuff I had for the Garage Sale we should have started this weeks ago when it was still winter! Finally he stopped at about 8:40 so we could put the girls to bed(the attic is over their bedrooms and Emily has nightmares about monkeys when Dave goes in the attic and she's asleep, you only think I'm joking!)

So I started pricing last night oh man I'm so not going to be ready by Thur. I worked all day today just putting baby clothes in stacks quarter, fifty cents etc. Well sort of I did 2 quick layouts with my new kit had to that BoBunny paper is calling me! I can hear it!

Upside to all of this is we have so much stuff I should be able to make some money to buy a new Iron yes I'm selling mine in the garage sale and new lamps for the Family Room and anything else that doesn't make it this weeks PURGE! I'm not kidding Dave has taped off the area I'm not allowed to look at for stuff to sell. It's so bad the girls beds are going and we're thinking of borrowing an air mattress. Now before you think I am the meanest mommy in the entire world for selling their beds out from under them literally. You should know we ordered new beds in April they are supposed to come in 3 months from when we ordered. Well 3 months is the Monday after the Garage Sale! And I know if I don't sell them now they will come that Monday and I'll be storing beds for an entire year to sell in a garage sale I may or may not be interested in having!

Ooooh and the Punch Bowl we looked for for weeks has now been recovered! Dave now has to admit we have a punch bowl and stop looking at me like I'm crazed! What else did we find oh the Sit and Spin Abbi has never seen this and it's just her size. She is too cute she said "Oh Wow Cool!" when I brought it down. And The Slip And Slide which I plan on suprising them with on Thursday! Emily is too funny when she walked into the living room and saw the bags and boxes and larger toys all she could say was "Oh My God". She now asks me about everything are we keeping that or selling it.

Our playdate plans kinda got Mufungo'd for tomorrow so at least that buys me a little more time to price stuff and set up. I have another table coming and I'm considering buying clothes rack to use? Paula and Seth are coming Thur for a bit to help out and my MIL is coming on Friday so at least someone can keep an eye on the kids and I can pee without closing up etc.

In other news it's freaking hot, did I say that already. Dave only wants to eat ice cream for dinner which would be ok except we should probably feed our 2 small children something healthy! They want Hoho's for breakfast, lunch and dinner that would be wrong right? For them I mean not me! LOL

The camera has turned both my kids into little models. They both even Abbi(yes she's 2) vogue. On the other hand is has turned my DH into a fist full of bad bad bad sign language! If there is a hand gesture for it he has shown it to me lately! I probably have a picture of said hand gesture. And I may burn them to a CD to keep for later blackmail! Right now he's safe he did just buy me the camera afterall! If he wants to flip it off who am I to complain! Maybe I can blow up the pictures and stick them to my car windows that way I won't be disobeying any hands free law they may pass while I'm trying to work my headset for my cellphone!
WARNING: For anyone traveling to Illinois especially the Chicagoland area. We now have a hands free cell phone law. You may get caught holding your phone to your ear and pay a hefty fine(translation fund next years Taste of Chicago). No sorry I mean you'll get a ticket(translation fund next years Blues Fest). Please use your headset. Which I know you have no idea how to opperate so you will be just as distracted trying to figure it out while driving! Be SAFE! Oh and there were some new tax laws passed as well (notice here the IRS is not getting involved with Taste or Blues Fest!)

Ok enough of the public service announcement. Back to pricing items. How much do you think I can get for a flipping(literally) sarcastic DH? $5? Too Much?
Abbi unaware mommy is stalking her with a camera she's too cute! Posted by Picasa
Yup he's trying to take the new camera away! Like he didn't know this would happen!  Posted by Picasa
Look How High She Can Swing! Posted by Picasa
Emily Just Swinging!
Abs Being So Cute!
New Camera Is In The HOUSE!!!! Or Outside!

Happy Weekend

So it's a great weekend so far. It started last night with a nail party which are always fun Quin did cute nail art on my toes and I got new toe jewelry! LOL Then out with some ladies Renee knows and some from the party! Very very funny group!

Diet went ok I think I stuck to not so aweful foods I knew I could eat and I didn't drink at all! Amazing for me. Water all the way! It wasn't so bad!

Today the girls were up early it seemed(it always does!). So we talked about what to do and decided a picnic would be nice. Dave scoped out a forrest preserve he had seen on the way to Natalies house. Then I'm so excited......is everyone sitting down?????

I got my new camera today! WOOO HOOOO it's the best birthday present ever a month and a half early! But I really really wanted to be using it now for some projects! I have lists of things to photograph with it! After we picked it up Dave went to Browns and picked up chicken and then we were off for our picnic. New camera wasn't charged yet so I took about a roll at the Forrest Preserve under the trees playing frisbee etc. It was a gorgeous freaking day and the girls loved it! Home for naps(including mommy! Too much excitement obviously!).

Dave and Em played in front for awhile then it was into the back yard for more photos with the camera! LOL lots of photos coming! I grocery shopped and bought all healthy stuff! Drinking my V8 now! Yumm!

Anyway I'm going to go and get some work done I have ideas swimming again! They come and go gotta take advantage!

Have a great rest of the weekend!
Being a Girl! Its all about the clothes in this case Dresses. Dressy Dresses, Dress Up Dresses, even the outdoor Play and Get Dirty Dresses. So worn and well loved just like the little girl that wears them day after day after day! Emily would wear her favorites until they were strings if I let her. She was so excited today that her current favorite was just out of the dryer she begged to have a picture of herself in it! Cheesey smile and all!

Things are moving along!

Yup summer is moving along! Em has learned to pump her legs on the swing and twist and spin etc. She is thrilled! She keeps asking what food makes you swing higher yesterday was raisins and carrots(mommy suggested). Today she decided kisses would do it! Too Funny!

Abbi is getting so much more vocal now. Her current favorite quote is "I DO IT" and god help you if you don't let her! She can do one of the buckles on her car seat now and she is proficient at taking her clothes off as well as her diaper! She is working hard at putting her clothes on but socks still get her hung up. This morning I was laying in bed listening to her waking up she was making noises then suddenly I heard "I Abbi" and loads of giggles followed. Not sure what brought that on? The downside is she has started dreaming and remembering. Last night she didn't want to go to sleep because she was going to dream about bugs? Took me a bit to convince her there were no bugs! This is from the 2 beetles we had in the pool yesterday I think. Oh the screaming that went on!

My organizing is coming along nicely the room is still a mess but now it's the little crappy stuff I just don't want to do I'm burning out! I knew this was coming so I wrote it all down!

Oh and the laptop is almost completely dead. Oh well it was not meant to be!

Got my new TRW kit yesterday ripped it open and I'm almost done with a layout I started yesterday! Woo Hoo! Gotta love it! Paula subscribed and she called to tell me hers came as well! Very cool! It's 1/2 scrapworks pink and brown and 1/2 BO BUNNY(Dianne did you see it?). I love that you get 2 different lines It's just enough to make a couple layouts each and then move on to something else! I love love love that!

Scrapping Wed. I got lots done 3 layouts to be exact none earth shattering good but they are done and right now I'm working on making a dent in my photos! I'll post them here in a minute I have to stitch one together! Oh man we also had vanilla ice cream with Mel's homemade Rasberry sauce she grew the berries herself canned the sauce herself it was very yummy! I think I had a sugar OD Wed. we then had the tollhouse Mint Brownie Ice Cream things and Wisps(sp?) by Pepperidge Farm! Yesterday I was just out of sorts. All is better now!

Ok going to stitch a layout and post!

Mission Organization

If only it were as quick and easy as a 30min show! Yikes. A trip to Ikea and the Container Store this weekend only made me more determined to get organized. Only I'm trying to organize an entire house at one time. Since I seem to have less of an attention span than my 2 small children lately I wonder if I'll ever find the end to this project? It's frightening. So far I got my 2 SU/Stamping Cabinets Organized. I have a new solution for the SU scraps that will hopefully work(this is a quest as usual). My loose ribbon is in big cool Ikea jars wrapped on clothes pins unless it's still taped from my last order. My silk flowers are in cool little Ikea jars. The kids craft cabinet is all cleaned out and the kids stuff is in labeled boxes for pencils/stamp pads etc. Oh yeah I labeled all my SU stamp sets with white background I can actually find a stamp set in record time. I've cleaned off the top of my Iris carts behind the door. I've made files for all the paper(need more filenames). I've finished all my swaps except my 2 that are 1 on 1! NO MORE SWAPS for awhile! All I have is a paint can of Illinois this is hard! And my roomie swap hard part here is the make and take but I have so many card kits leftover from classes I should be good to go I just have to figure it out! I now need to organize all my paper that needs to be filed away and label my cardstock/colored patterned paper and patterned paper by manufactuerer. I think that will be all the labeling for me for awhile I need a refil for my label maker and I don't feel like going to the Office Supply store today so I'll make friends with the trash can the rest of the day. It's almost full so my goal is to fill it to the top!

I've made lists of things I want to accomplish this month for me and for the girls. And my future Ikea and Container store purchase lists. I've drawn diagrams of where everything should go. I'm obsessed and I'm sure this obsession will wane long enough for everything to get out of hand again! But before that happens I've written it all down so I can't forget! So I got the top of the buffet in the kitchen cleaned off(except the disco ball and box WHY are we saving the box Dave?). I'm using that messed up catch all Longaberger basket for our daily fun stuff. I have my book of the day in there a project of the day and our workbook right now we are doing animal finds. I have a list of project kits I want to put together in there. We'll do a cardmaking day soon I have to finish Em's thank you's. Today is shrinky dinks! I also have finger paints and many things to make and do with paper towel and TP rolls! LOL ! Can you tell I've been scouring my kids craft library. So far this morning they are just thrilled I found the Polly Pocket etching plates(who knew). Plus I made them each a box for their crayons with their names on it!

I even have a new idea how to do snacks/lunch each day. That's right my children are grazers! I'm going to work with that! Take advantage of it and make them more self sufficient with only healthy choices to make. I feel like all I do is make breakfast/snacks/lunch/snacks that and all the cleanup takes up so much time each day time I could be using more wisely!

I can only hope this organization bug lasts me until the studio/craft room is complete then I can take pictures and post them.

Back to the salt mines! Have a great day!
