Spring is Coming

So I've been stalking my front yard where I planted my bulbs last fall! I was getting worried I didn't see green coming up yet! But look at what I found yesterday in between bursts of rain! It's a yellow crocus I am giddy with excitement that what I planted is actually coming up and it's not a weed! I'm going to go out this afternoon and take more pictures I noticed pulling in the drive today that I have 3 yellow blooms coming up! I may turn my black thumb green afterall?

Rusty Pickle Sponsor + Challenge for tonight!

This month at the Cottage our DT sponsor is Rusty Pickle! We were sent the Old MacDonald line to work with! Shortly after recieving my papers I found this adorable birdhouse unfinished at Walmart I knew I had to work it into my DT projects for this month!

Tonight we're scrapping and I've issued a challenge at the Schnockered blog! I hope everyone can participate and share their finished projects! No timer tonight! Sorry Ana I know you loved being the time keeper!

Swap Cards Up

So I posted the Schnockered swap cards on the blog today. Finally got around to taking pictures of everyones cards. Be sure to check it out for Birthday card ideas!

Inspiration!

I watched this video late one night when I'm most likely to sob at hokey/beautiful music videos involving children and breakups or even the loss of a pick up truck it just depends on what time of night it is. Anyhoo! This song really made me think of a pic I had sitting on my table of Emily so happy and clearly laughing. She does give me wings and inspire me thus this layout was born! I love how all the kids sing at the end makes me well SOB! Sorry the layout is on black cardstock it kinda blends!

Happy Birthday & More Finished Layouts!

Ok My littlest baby turns 4 today! Happyb Birthday Abbi! She has been asking since just after Thanksgiving when her Birthday was DAILY. Yes everyday she would wake up and ask and everynight when we tucked her in she would ask! It's been a very long 3 1/2 months! Made only longer by the fact that we kinda kept from her today was her birthday since we're not actually celebrating it until next weekend. Her dad was out of town this weekend and I wouldn't want to do a party without her favorite guy! So we postponed it a week! I did however let her choose what I made for dinner macaroni(only I added chicken peas and mushrooms)hers just had butter. She also got to pick out cupcakes(Nemo) and ice cream(Dora) at the store we had a very theme filled desert. Emily and I put a candle in a cupcake and sang to her she was thrilled we promised we'd do it again tomorrow when Daddy & Mommy take her out to dinner!

I'm so stinking excited 2 layouts I had sitting on my table this week 1 because I cut out the title and set it aside and the other because I was stumped where to go next are done. WOO!
Ok so Layout 1 I started awhile back and just completed I really love this picture of serious Abbi. This is my little girl always thinking, usually of ways to get around Mommy but she's always thinking!
Layout 2 is me playing with some new product I got last week the Cuttlebug Circle Die and some new DCWV called Pocket Full Of Posies! It's yummy it has glitter! Who could ask for more! So I got the circles on and then soufleed around them with my trusty pens, put the picture on shimmer bazzill and got totally stumped I knew it wasn't done but wasn't sure where to go. Until Dianne and I hit the JoAnn's sale Friday. We found these adorable shell buttons in YUMMY like ice cream colors! Perfect addition! Added the Making Memories stickers for a title and I'm a happy camper. And no this one doesn't have any rhinestones on it I can barely believe it myself! But did I mention the paper was glittered? HA

Another Card & Slap Slap Slap!

Ok so today was ICKY with a capital I. The wind was howling the snow was blowing and it was cold! Emily likes to remind me the *#$^&^%(she doesn't say this) groundhog didn't see his shadow! HA It's CHICAGO BABY we have winter 8 months out of the year! NEVER ENDING!

Ok so whining aside Dianne, Abs and I headed to the JoAnn's sale. Not really much I needed/wanted I did get a couple Cuttlebug things nested stars and the invite embossing plate. An accessory pack that had heart rhinestones in it a Sizzix guy and lots of pink buttons(I lost mine last week, I'm sure I'll find them now!). Oooh and lest I forget some more shamrock decorations for Abbi's b-day party! Her Lucky Birthday as she likes to say!

Last night I distributed our groups Swap cards. Here is my contribution to the swap. My categorary was Masculine Birthday.

I'll post the rest over at the Schnockered Blog tomorrow.

We moved scrapping to Thursdays for awhile since Ana's DH decided to take a class on Tue & Wed and Thursdays seemed to be good for everyone for now. We can't have a missing member for 8 weeks that's just insane! Vacation is one thing(RENEEEEEEEE the woman that goes on multiple vacations for 8 weeks in a row!). Ana brought us each these amazing goodie bags with tons of chipboard pieces, she is tooooo sweet!! They are so cool I'm working on my first card with them as I type, well not really as! Anyhoo we did a little challenge game Dianne has named Slap & Tickle! HA! We do crack ourselves up. The basic rules of the challenge are posted at Schnockers along with these 2 layouts! It was a hoot we laughed and laughed until I was almost asleep at the table at midnight! Wow I was exhuasted yesterday for no real good reason except it got really cold again!

Not bad for 30 min timed limited supply layouts! I was happy just to complete something! I usually talk to much to get anything done when everyone is over!

A little Christmas Cheer!

These are my cards for Jan and Feb. Each month I'm doing a challenge at SCS to make 10 holiday cards until I have enough for the upcoming holidays! So here are the 20 I have done now! Jan cards are The Snowflake Spot with yummy ribbon from Maya Road that helped me choose my color scheme. Feb cards are these great glittered words Ho Ho Ho that Dianne found at Hobby Lobby after the holidays and was kind enough to share with me. The paper is DCWV 4x6 holiday stack from a few years ago! Using up my stash gotta love that!
Not sure what I'm doing for this month but I've been thinking very hard about it! I want to try a new technique I think? Any suggestions? That being said Merry Christmas......................I mean have a great 1st day of March!
