So Happy Work Is Underway

On Emily's Room Makeover.  We went out on my day off and picked out accessories, bedding and some shelving.  The only thing we have left to get are these Mirrors we saw at IKEA way to long and breakable for me and the girls to handle out to the car we'll go back with Dave one day and get those.  She's so excited with all of her new things she can't wait to get her room painted now!  She's got this cool modern taste so I think her room will look sleek even though it's painted Lucky Charm Green.   Gotta go get the paint and get started with that!

In other good news I get to hang out all day Saturday with Christine!  She's officially moving back here to Illinois on  a permanent basis!  It will be nice having her local again she'll get to play with us more!

A last shot of one of my Die Cut Cards from this months Discovering Die Cuts.  More new projects to come!

Copic All Day!

It's my Sunday to work which means COPIC all day long!  We have our club meeting today and I'm taking my air compressor and airbrush!  Very exciting!   I love teaching and sharing Copic info with our club and our customers!  I just love coloring it's like being 8 years old again!  And we all know I'm extremely far from 8 unless you add other numbers in front of it!  HA    So in honor of my once a month COPIC DAY  I thought I would share my samples for my Copic 101 class coming up this Thursday.  Super fun we're using lavenders.  The stamps are new from Hero Arts.  So love how summery these turned out!   Perfect for this time of year!

The Open House yesterday was a lot of fun!  The kids were exhausted after running around all afternoon.  It was wonderful to see everyone and catch up on what everyone was doing and we met tons of Paula's family which was so nice!  Oooh and I got to hold the new baby  for a little bit.   Matthew was here from Fort Knox for his sisters and it was good to see him before he transfers to GA.  Basically everyone was there couldn't have been better!
So this morning was freaky busy.  Making Pancakes for the sleepover girlie's.  Making broccoli salad and baked beans for our nieces(x2) open house this afternoon.  Getting together cards and such.  And I still have lots of work to do around the house(see my tired tired self sitting on the laundry, HA?).  We had another mini storm really early this morning!  Not sure what is going on with this weather.  My tomato plants are starting to turn a bit yellow with all the rain.    Oh well at least it is absolutely beautiful for the party this afternoon.  Suz & Katie got a great day for their graduation Open House!    So we are ready to roll and ready to party!  Hope everyone is having a super weekend!

Happy Birthday Emily

Man I can't believe you are 10 today.   It's very surreal to me to think that 10 years ago today you were just an infant.  Now you are our bright, sunny, witty girl.  For today we have big plans, Daddy is coming home early to take you to a movie then we have to pick up your Cookie Cake and get ready for your sleepover tonight!  Got lots of goodies for everyone.  Hope you have the most Fantastical Day Today Em, Love you more than words can say!

What Fun We Had Today

Kids camp was fun the kiddos and I had a great time.  Then it was home and off for some pampering for Mommy.  I needed to get my hair fixed desperately so it was a pleasant way to spend the evening.  We snacked on Pizza when I got home!

I love the above card from my Discovering Die Cuts class at CraftFancy on Monday.  I can't wait to share how easy this one is to create!

Sun Sun Where Are You?

Well it will hopefully get nicer!  I'm getting tired of saying it looks like it's going to rain.   Tonight is scrappy scrappy as the kids call it so I'm ready to get some work done.  I have a Kids Camp tomorrow at work I need to prep for!  Lots of paper doll set up work tonight.  Plus the kiddos get to come to work to help me tomorrow that will be fun for them.

The above card is from my Discovering Die Cuts class on Monday June 28th at CraftFancy

Distressing!

On Friday of this week my oldest enters double digits.  I can hardly believe it.  Seems like yesterday she was my bright sunny smiling baby.  She's still bright and sunny but not a baby anymore!  EEEK  She can almost wear my shoes.  I will never see them again I'm sure!

The above are some cards from my Distress Technique class from last week!  Been kinda behind on uploading pics!  EEEEK!   So these were converted from Tim Holtz tags we learned in our class with him this past spring into cards!

Yay Summer Is Here

Finally the sun came out today.  We spent the morning cleaning and doing laundry.  Emily has been learning how to do the laundry thing.  She thinks it's fun.  Who would have thought?  I'm not going to complain it's too cool to get a laundry day off.  Then we went out and picked up paint swatches for her room.  She's getting a room makeover for her birthday.  She's so excited!  After that it was sunny so the girls hung out in the pool until their bickering became too much for me and I made them come in?  Not sure what was up with that but it's over now.  Phew!  Made some fresh salsa for dinner we're having tacos!  Yum-O!

So the rainbow above is for my Discovering Die Cuts class next Monday at CraftFancy!   Fun fun fun!  The paper is American Crafts and the stamp is Hero Arts.

Happy Wednesday!

Wow what a fantastic day at work and in general.  It started out so so this morning but by 9pm it was great.  We had wonderful news at the store almost all day from the moment we opened the doors.  New product came in which will thrill almost everyone.  At home the pool got set up, I did a survey and Emily got some Lauren time.  Then it was back to work for me for the evening where I got to hang out and work on my projects and just enjoy the Craft Collective ladies and all of the wonderful energy they bring to a Wednesday night.  Lots of fun stuff going on and plans.  My only complaint about yesterday could be I didn't get more than a couple hours outdoor time since the weather was perfect but really that can't be too bad since I was inside having fun the entire time.  Oh one more I saw briefly but didn't get to talk to Margie when she came in we were too busy.  Bummer!  I need to catch up.

So tomorrow is catch up at home and then get ready for the girls recital.  Keeping them relaxed all day will be my goal.

Love this modern card using the Octagons from Spellbinders.  Simple Clean Classy!  Perfect for any occasion just change the greeting and colors!

Wow What a Dress Rehersal

EEEEK 4 hours in a theater with small children in tap shoes running all around!  I made it out alive!  PHEW!    The girls dress rehersal was this evening.  Olivia came home with us to sleep over.  She swore she wouldn't be bored.  I never heard her complain so I'm not sure if she was or not.  But Dave came and picked up the big girls and took them to dinner  as soon as they rehearsed their last dance.  I stayed back with Abbi who had to go till almost the end.  I'm excited for the show it's going to be a great one!

Work earlier was a bummer but it's over and I can breath again without having to worry about ickiness having to be done.  I supposed every job has those days.  Tomorrow will be better it has to be right?

These happy cards should cheer us all up!  Hope everyone is having a wonderful week so far!

Cool as Cake

OK it's not cool here at all it's hot and humid and thunderstorms roll through then it gets hot again.  Dianne and I made the most of the boring day ahead of us and ran down to the Wilton Tent sale as soon as we realized we were both off work at the same time!  HA   It was a bit overwhelming for our first time.  Next time I attend I will go with a better plan in mind of what I need or am looking for.  Got so much randomness going on.  Some cake/cookie decorating stuff in our household colors Blue and Green HA.  Some stamps, paper pads, dimensional stickers, Food Network prep bowls, a cookie s spatula,  some storage, travel cups and lots of cupcake liners.  Like I said an odd assortment.  The only thing they had I really needed and was on my to get list lately were pot holders but theirs were a rusty orange that would clash with my red kitchen so I didn't get those.  I need to head over to Sur La Table and find some good ones that match my kitchen or at the very least won't look ridiculous!

While we were out Dave and the girls formulated a plan where we would have pizza and play games for the evening. I wasn't about to argue with that logic the Salmon in the fridge can wait until tomorrow!  Pizza will be here shortly looking forward to a relaxing evening having fun with Dave and the Kids!

I'm digging my Queen of Hearts tags I'm working on coloring here with Copics as well she is super cool!  Have a great day!
OK last one for today I apparently have way to much to say!   Made these Coconut/Pineapple Cupcakes with Coconut Frosting.  We celebrated Laurens B-day by of course forcing her to listen to us sing and making her blow out candles!  HA  She giggled through it thank goodness.  The frosting was super yummy if I do say so myself.  I could just eat a bowl of that!  OMG did I just type that?  The cake was a bit dense like most scratch cakes I make are.

So today was the first day the girls went to Camp Swanson while I worked.  I have got to figure out the traffic thing EEEK.  After I picked them up we ran to the Library and signed up for the Summer reading program.  They each got 5 books.   Abbi finished hers an hour later.  She of course had to read 16 books so it's good but still.  She is way too excited.

Scrapping tonigh I worked on my swap cards.  Almost done but now I'm going to watch the Top Chef Masters Finale and the new Work Of Art show.  Crossing fingers it's not too wacky!

Happy Birthday Lauren(a day late sorry)

Emily picked out this paper from CraftFancy.  I just assisted in putting it together for her into a giant card.  Well it's giant the bottom piece is 12x12 then we added the hat on top.  Then I made a gift card holder that coordinated.    Emily loves Lauren so much she has been a blessing to our family making school a muc more enjoyable place.  Em was so excited she got her room all cleaned up and they could hang out in there and work yesterday!   It was a nice way to enjoy our last day of school!

Wise Men Say........

It's actually been 12 years today since I married my best friend!  It seems like it was just yesterday we were in Vegas getting married!!!  Happy Anniversary Dave!

Today we have one crazy day planned.  The kids get out of school for the summer before noon.  Lauren is coming after 1:00 for tutoring plus it is her Birthday.   I still have to put the finishing touches on her cupcakes.  Then Grandma is coming over to babysit so we can go out for dinner.  Phew!

Summer Break is Near!

It really is it begins tomorrow at 11:21am.  The kids will come running out of the school and ready to begin their summer adventures!  This year has zoomed by!   Soon I will have a 5th grader and a 2nd grader.  Totally doesn't seem possible.

I've been working on teacher gifts for end of year.  I took some old cigar boxes I bought at the church rummage sale a couple of years ago and painted them layered paper and embellishments and made coordinating cards to go inside for 2 of the teachers.  Then for some of the other teachers I used did something similar with mini picnic baskets but the cards in those were 3x3. I also covered nuggets with decorated addres labels and put those in the boxes.    I went with a summery vintage feel for colors.  I have no idea where this came from?  I'm usually so bright with my colors.  But I had to play with pearls and pastels for some reason.  Below is a sampling of the gifts.
How has your weekend been going?  Ours has been very pleasant.  Only 1 1/2 days of school left.  The kids are getting ready.  They can barely stand it.   We will be in the pool all day every day if possible!   They can't wait!  I've got to finish the teacher gifts tonight!  EEEEK!  I've been painting like mad!  I'll take lots of pictures!

So here are some cool tags I made for my shop.  The images are Lost Coast Designs.  I love their stamps got a whole bunch on their last sale.  I colored these with a pale Blue Green Copic love love that!

Have a wonderful rest of your Sunday!

Happy Birthday Julia

My girls have a dear friend Julia.  Today is her Birthday.  When I asked her what her favorite things were so we could pick out a present she told me craft kits, horses and blue(turquois).  Well it didn't take long for Emily and I to find her some horse craft kits at the Michaels.  I also found these cool Silver Journals on Sale.  I bought a few.  Then I borrowed Dianne's big J stamp.  I stamped the J in Staz On on the cover and since I didn't have turquoise Staz On Emily suggested I use the turquoise Stickles!  Brilliant!  Below is the journal we made.  I also made her a horse themed B-day card using an old SU set that I bought for Emily!  The 1 of a kind stamp is Hero Arts.   We wrapped everything up in a basket she can use later in her new room!  Hope she loves it the girls are headed over to her Cake Decorating Birthday Party!   Super FUN!

Hope everyone is having a great Weekend so far!

My Little Dancers!

Here they are with their costumes on from last Sunday's Dance Recital!  I tried to match their roses to their costumes!  They were so cute.  The other day Abbi was wearing her cat ears(other headpiece for this costume), tail and a kitty cat shirt my mom bought her to the grocery store.  Cracks me up!  All she needed was the face painted on!  Yesterday she was dressed all in black running around in her Jazz Shoes being Cat Woman!  She has quite the imagination!   We have one more recital in a couple of weeks.  The girls are looking foward to it.  That and the end of school next week!  We cleaned and organized their rooms.  Now all I have to do is go through the clothes and get rid of everything that doesn't fit and refold all of the drawers and we'll be ready for summer!

So this week is a busy one and short because today is not Monday even though in my head it is!  I've got Copic classes later in the week which will be fun!   And I'm thinking  of doing the Crop on Friday does anyone want to join me?  It will be fun!  Check out the times here on the Calendar http://www.craftfancy.com/.  There are a few people already signed up so it's a go no matter what!

Hope everyone had a safe and Happy Weekend!
