Friday Is Here! RAT in a Bucket!

Have you met our rats? I don' t think I've shared pictures of them. This is Petunia. The girls love putting them in these little buckets. Petunia however is just looking for a way to escape. Daisy(not pictured here) loves her bucket not icky little kid hands touching her, less bathing to do later after playtime is over! They are quite funny I will share a picture of Daisy soon, maybe after the girls put her back in her cage she freaks and bathes and bathes and bathes!

Last night Dave and I went over to 1st Place and had snacks(yummy bar food) while Abbi was in dance. Em was out to dinner with a friends family so we were alone. It was like a mini 45min date. I'm always suprised at how places are pushing that Summer Shandy beer. It smells like someone dumped pledge into beer and called it clean? Now I'm not a beer drinker(makes me need to sleep) nor do I really love Lemon so maybe I'm missing something. It so reminds me of Zima which was like cough syrup with bubbles. I never could understand why anyone would drink that either.

So after today there is only one more week of school left. Well a week and a few hours. The girls are getting excited and I'm getting nervous. Dave scheduled his next surgery yesterday so we have that to look forward to in June. Ewwww. This weekend though we are going to the racetrack to check out the horses. They have tons of stuff for the kids to do and we're going to take a picnic lunch and hang out.
Another Fathers Day card uploaded to the store. I stamped and colored this with Copics in bright colors then when over each image with a light brown and warm grey to tone it down and make it look more antiqued.
Ok so clearly I really have nothing to talk about! But at least I'm not neglecting my little blog! HA

Happy Birthday Johanna!!!

Happy Happy Happy Birthday Johanna!

My Hedgie is on his way to the party! He got rid of his car after the hamster commercials started airing and he realized the little orange Vespa was more economical and better for the environment. Plus no one wonders why he isn't playing his music loud in his car...........Anyhoo he will arrive in CA shortly for the party. Probably late I don't think the scooter goes very fast. Plus he's taking the route through the jungle!

New Stuff

Happy Wednesday! So yesterday I missed the Kindergym Final Celebration, all because I thought it was Monday. ARGHHHH Well things feel a little more normal today. Tonight is Scrapbooking and there is a new inspiration piece up over at the Schnockered Blog. I got that 50 cent tank cleaned out with CLR and it looks pretty good I want to rinse outside with he hose and then do a vinegar and water wash on it. Don't want to poison the rats with their new home. It was really ridiculous me wrestling the giant box of glass while standing on a stool in the kitchen so I could reach inside it. HA

It's gloomy and rainy here today which isn't all bad I'm back to organizing and laundry.

So yesterday and today are big Etsy load days for me. I have lots of new stuff to share, all quite random for the most part.

We have the Summer of Reading Aloha Bookmark Set then the Sail Away Happy Fathers Day Card, A Pink Damask Bag and Gift Card set and lastly a Golf is the Game Pop Up Fathers Day Card, which actually sold a couple hours after I put it up but it was so stinkin cute I still had to share. I've also added some more stamps and I have a couple of Anniversary cards as well. As I said it's random and all over the place. As is my brain I suppose!

So today is sweep and mop and clean day! See it's good it's gloomy I don' t feel so bad hanging out inside then!

Hope everyone is having a great week so far!

Nice Weekend

We had a nice Holiday weekend. Great weather for the first couple of days so the girls were outside with the new slip n' slide and then Dave put up the pool and they filled it with water. Ice cream cones and BBQ chicken it was all good. Friday Dianne and I headed over to Paulas to crop. We giggled all night and even got lots of work done. Of course Paula made slushy cosmo drinks so that didn't damper the giggling any. Luckily Seth was the only one home and found us quite amusing I think. The girls Sleepover and Sleep under were huge success'. Although on Sunday they were both quite exhausted and we had a couple of moments.
Monday Dave headed to Manteno and did his Memorial Day thing ending with a Parade and lunch given at the American Legion. He had a great time. And he was home by 1:30 so we still had family time! So we did a movie and dinner out. We watched Bolt. It was so cute. I think everyone enjoyed it, even Dave who said he wasn't interested.
There was a phone call to Uncle Cris to sing him Happy Birthday which made them giddy right before bed last night! Happy Birthday Cris!!!!
Oh I almost forgot about the project pictured here. This was Emily's teachers, Staff Appreciation gift. She loves Cows so I paper pieced these cows from one I found at SCS using SU punches. I then found a pattern for the mini shirt box and stamped red and kraft paper with a wood grain stamp and cut out my barn like pieces to cover the box. The cards use a wheel which wheeled and colored with Copics. I just added the paper pieced cows to scallops to cover the candy, the teachers favorite kind of course. Then tied everything up with twine and added a little thank you note. This was a fun project I had a good time making it and I think she really liked it.
Hope everyone is having a great Tuesday. I have to keep reminding myself it is not Wednesday!

We went Sailing today!!!!!

Ok not Sailing but out Sale-ing Garage Sale-ing. It was fun I had stopped and scoped out some yesterday. Today we went to the best ones I found. The girls went nuts they got a Microphone with a stand, a American Girl Doll Chair the kind they use in the restaurant downtown, a sewing machine, a slip and slide(NIB), a talking/purring cat and accessories, hair bows, a fishing pole(NIB), matchbox cars, some figurines(yippee I love to dust), a marble maze, a lamp for their bedroom with horses and I got them a Kerplunk game as it came with my bingo set. They really did well, not that I did too shabby 2 table lamps, a couple of silver serving pieces, some clear glass plates, Bingo, 5 black candlesticks, a Kate Spade bag for winter and some iron on interfacing. Total we probably just spent a little over $25. It was a lot of fun. It a gorgeous day outside so that was just a plus!

Ok so these are some new card sets I'm adding to the Papertivity Etsy Shop. The little shopping tote/bag was the inspiration for the note cards that fit in them with room for a little extra giftie to be added.

Ok so now we're off to set up for the Sleep Under and I have to talk about taking every Webkin we have in our house on her sleepover. Totally not a good idea it's like 20 Webkins packed up in a big shopping bag. Forget PJ's or a toothbrush just taking my Webkins! HA
Hope everyone is having a Stellar Weekend!

Left out the Thank You

I almost forgot the thank you that went with the gift. HA it's funny I forgot to send it with the gift on the day as well. After drop of it was still sitting on the dining room table. I had to take it when I went to school for pick up. Anyway This is a little card about 2 3/4" by 3 1/4" very cute. I really loved this color combination. I want to keep doing it!

So far it's a quiet Friday. Working on Etsy orders, making brownies for a crop tonight and packing up stuff to do there. Woo Hooo plus I have to finish planning Abbi's sleep under tomorrow. She's having her first friend over for an almost sleep over. They are very excited. I must get the smores supplies!

Hope everyone's Friday is great!

My sad sad neglected blog!

Hi Bloggy I'm back. I missed you. We're almost officially done with well everything for summer. I can hardly believe. Dance recital 1 is over recital 2 is mid June. School is winding down we have Field Days and maybe a little ice cream party for the Kindergartners since we have leftover party money. Field days of course and the end of year bashes that will ensue I'm sure and our annual movie on the last day! Beyond that the kids and I are heading to Nashville

with Dianne later in June. That's the big excitement! Well that and Pool passes in hand and a full summer to hang out and do what we want each day! Woo Hoo! Hopefully we'll get to Michigan and downtown a couple of times and the girls will do Dance Camp this summer. Then that's it their both in school all day every day! I think Abbi is ready she is finding it harder and harder to be entertained at home by herself, well I'm here but you all know how boring I am! HA

Ok so this little project here today is the gift we gave Abbi's teacher for Staff Appreciation at school. It was a stationary set in the little bag and some pretty matching chocolate since everyone needs candy of course. I didn't realize I never took a picture of the entire thing together tied up with a bow. OOOPS! But there were six cards 2 of each style.

Abbi picked out the colors I should use and then I found this lovely Anna Griffin paper and some 7 Gypsies that went with my floral stamps!

It was a fun project I need to perfect the bag I would love to make a larger one to hold more. This one only holds about 6 cards and envelopes if your using embellishments like ribbon on them.

What's next this weekend? The girls have plans various days for the holiday weekend. They are running constantly or at the very least having friends over every chance they get. We're hoping to get to the racetrack this weekend it's been open a couple of weeks now so we're itching to go. Paula is having us over to scrap tomorrow so that will be fun. I can't figure out what snacky to make and bring. And Dave is doing a Parade and American Legion visit on Monday.

So that's it for now. Have a safe and Happy Holiday Weekend!

Meet the Deputy Mayor Katy Washington

In School recently Emily's class has been building a community for Social Studies. She's married has 2 kids is a veterinarian and her name is Katy Washington. At the end of this project the kids were given the opportunity to run for Mayor of Evergreen Falls(not sure this is right I keep getting it wrong???). After collection 50 signatures on a petition to be eligible to run they had a Mayoral election. She created a platform vowing to expand the park, bring more food stores to town and plant a tree for every citizen which she presented in a speech. After the first round there was a 3-way tie so there had to be a run-off. Emily and 2 of the boys from her class. She ultimately tied for second and shares the Deputy Mayor position with Trent. It was a whirlwind week while all this was going on. You can see some of her things she created for the election. Her Poster was cool! I found this holographic sticker paper in Silver and also blue at Hobby Lobby and we ran it through the Big Shot with the Star die cut.
More of the sticker paper and some Nestabilities helped make these campaign buttons totally cool. Then we printed out Vote for Katy Washington on return address labels and wrapped them around Hershey Nuggets and those got handed out as well.
All in all her campaign was a complete success. She did really well coming in, in the top 3 and becoming Deputy Mayor! Next week we get to go to Mission control and she has a role in simulating a shuttle mission!
Have a wonderful day and try try to stay dry!

New Class This Weekend and Other Stuff!

So this is the Mother/Daughter class Em and I are teaching over at Craft Fancy tomorrow! It's a little handbag bragbook. Cute cute. Mine is about my girlies and I left a page for a picture from this mothers day and a page to journal on!

It's been crazy busy around here. Dance is coming to a close so we're running around with final rehearsals, pictures, costume fittings, etc. etc. School is getting towards the end so things are finishing up with tests and tests and such and we had Staff Appreciation this week. I made a couple cute things for the teachers but want to wait to post until I know they have them. Scrapping is almost back on schedule we were out this week to dinner for Randi's Birthday Celebration. The kids allergies have kicked in. Ewwww. I did get the spring clothes out and most of the winter stuff washed and put away. WOO HOO!

For some reason lately all my pictures come out squishy and long. I can't tell if it's just me seeing it this way of if you all see it too? It's bugging me I try to edit them so their normal but I get squishy and long? What am I doing wrong? Like this album it's weird looking to me? I want to add more but not if their weird looking.

OOOH did I mention that Heather in my previous post won a $50 gift certificate from jusjohanna's Odd Bird Planet. How stinkin cool is that?

Ok so that's about it I'm going to work on my photos a bit more and try to post them. Have a great day!
