Have you been Challenged Lately?

The DLAS challenge contest is still going on at the Chalet. This week we did an Ad Challenge with a lot of fun color. You can view the entire gallery here you've got to check out the cool star layouts. And then go vote for your favorite here!! Voting ends Monday at 7pm EST or 6pm CST depending on where you live.

Here is my take on the challenge! I just loved the colors and I got to use my new Bam Pop Alpha stamps aren't they fun????? I colored them with colored pencils then cut them out! Lots of Cherry Art with some Fancy Pants Chip Board.

Anyhoo hope everyone is having a wonderful Holiday weekend. It finally stopped raining here we now have sunshine so going to head out and enjoy it for a bit! Have a Safe and Happy Holiday!

Have you been invaded?

We supposedly have by Cicada's? But alas I've seen none here where we live. We went to the Zoo yesterday with Em's 1st Grade class and there were some on the trees we actually saw one flying but not a ton like they talked about on the news! Here is a pics of the kids holding one at the Zoo! I also heard the zoo was feeding them to the animals for protien EWWWW! Maybe that's why we saw so few bugs????

The day after is finally here!

It's over I did it I danced in front of people in a wacky costume and it's done! PHEW! I didn't die and if anyone laughed at me I didn't witness it so I'm thankful for that! And above all I had fun with my friends and my girls!

Now on to way more fun stuff the Voting for the DLAS contest over at the Chalet has begun! Here is my layout in the gallery and the voting area. I'm excited about this one it was a sketch challenge and I love how mine turned out for once! The other layouts are just amazing you have to check them all out then don't forget to place your vote!

A little over an Hour

And I will be wearing my dance costume out in public or at least to the park district building for pictures! HA! I have to figure out my hair under the wig! The girls looked awesome for pictures! Abbi was adorable with her hair up! And Em got banana curls like she always wanted in her pony tail. Mommy ended up buying Aquanet to keep it all in place! You know this stuff smells way better than I remember it smelling in high school!

So Renee L called yesteray afternoon. Ana had her baby Jaqueline Portia she was 7lbs 5oz with a full head of black hair! Ana herself called today to tell me I was right she was a girl!(she was convinced it would be a boy!) I gather her mom was a tad upset since Ana wouldn't let her buy some cute cute girlie outfits out shopping earlier in the week! Oh well now we all get to buy pretty girlie dresses! I'm so excited for her!

So I finished my Chalet DLAS Challenge #6. I'm so excited! I used my new Cocoa Daisy May kit on this one and added some stuff out of my stash! This Pink Martini paper was just perfect! Here's a little sneaky peaky!

Oooh tonight I made pork ribs in the crock pot. Well I put them in this morning Dianne was right they fall right off the bone! Dave loved them! Speaking of DIANNE KUDOS lady for having a LAYOUT picked up for Memory Makers October issue I'm so excited for you! Congrats we will go out for celebratory pie after Saturday!

I'm sure I'll be keeping you updated on our progress as we get closer to the recital!

It's Midweek!

Only 2 1/2 more days until the dance recital! The girls costumes came in so they are all ready to go. Em gets to try hers on tonight in class. Abbi has to wait until pictures tomorrow her's is mostly white! I put it up high! Mine needs the fringe sewn on the butt! YIKES! Fringe on the butt is always a good look when your almost 40! NOT! I can't think about it anymore it's freaking me out!

Tomorrow is Abbi's last day of preschool! She is not happy about this! She loves school! We are doing a picnic and playground trip weather permitting so that will be fun!

Ok so this week our justjohanna galleries are being worked on. We are creating new art to put in them! How exciting! Here is one I made for my try out! It's a great way to use those little stamps you love and JJ has so many I love including the "Thanks Ever So" stamp! TOO CUTE!

On to Round 5 Voting

Round 5 of the Designing Like a Star contest over at Scrapbook Chalet is well underway and voting has begun! Our challenge was to go outside and photograph something inspriational using the word inspire(in some form) in our journaling.
I had a great time reflecting the clouds in my papers and journaling!

Other than that we're having a very nice weekend a bit chilly but very nice! The girls were outside almost from the moment they woke up today! The sun was shining. Abbi was in her Bathing suit for the 4th day in a row. She's really bucking for the pool to go up! Forget Mommy kept putting on more sweaters and socks she was so cold! That little girl runs around here like it's 90 outside with her bathing suite sarong and flip flops! At one point she asked for tights to put on under it because her legs were cold! I made her wear sweats! And really it's not that freezing just the high 60's but still if your not in the sun!

Wow What A Week!

Wow It's been a whirlwind! I had my great Just Johanna moment which was so wonderful and I'm so excited! Then just as I was coming down from that I got the most wonderful email from Sharon over at Linne Cards asking me to be on her DT which only increased my level of excitement! I'm thrilled! So here I'll share with you some things I sent in for her call!

SOOOO Excited!

While perusing some calls over at the Pub Calls blog about a month back Dianne and I discovered a stamp company called justjohanna we went and perused and filled our cards with the most adorable stamps you've ever seen! We couldn't decide we wanted everything. We went back almost daily doing this over and over finding new treasures to love! Finally we ordered some stamps we just couldn't live without! All we could do was talk about these stamps! So we decided to apply for the DT Call they had! OMG it was so much fun! Anyhoo long winded me will get to the point! Sunday I got the CALL! I made the team! WOO HOO! And even better is Dianne did too! How fun we get to stamp together! I'm so excited! I've been sharing with you some of my creations for the team over the past couple of weeks! So you've seen most of them. Here is another card I created it's also the card I made for my April Christmas cards so I made about 12 of these. I just love this Snow globe/Bird pirtch/Cake Stand it's so versatile. And the little owl he just makes me happy! The snow globe is on silver paper but it doesn't scan well unfortunately! I love how it looks in person!

Ahhh the weekend!

So it's been a crazy weekend and I can't even remember what I did! All I know is I did LAUNDRY! Lots and Lots of LAUNDRY it's like rabbits in my house it multiplies! No matter what I do it seems! I'm so close to being caught up, but I've said that before! I know it's a false security those empty sorter baskets their taunting me tomorrow they will be full again!

Anyway enough about my moaning! I finished my Round 4 Challenge Layout at Scrapbook Chalet! This week we were to use an ad for inspiration. I used the basic shape and lines of the layout although I sort of turned it on it's side. Voting is going on for another hour or so! Then we know who moves on to Round 5! Oh speaking of the Chalet, they had an awesome chat last night with Cheryl Mezzetti she was great fun and gave out awesome door prizes! It was an all around wonderful chat! Oooh almost forgot. Here is my layout for the challenge. It's very clean looking! The bottom scroll got cut off by my scanner it wasn't digging the bottom of the page! Sorry!

So what else! I did my grocery shopping late last night saving only $42 this week. Last week I had a savings of over $45 on my bill the cashier was so excited. Now I'm trying to save over $50! LAME I know! But it never hurts to have a goal!

Emily had her second cheer practice for the Rush Game they've made her a tumbler for the game during their big field cheer! She's so excited!

Good Morning! Happy Wednesday! I'm posting before everything gets insane today! I just finished all the brownies for the Teacher Appreciation luncheon later today or tomorrow since I haven't been to bed yet! YIKES! Today/Yesterday was nice but I was tired for some reason! Dance Rehearsal just about killed me! Only 2 more weeks until the dance recital! OMG! OK enough thinking about that!

So here is another Happy justjohanna card isn't she cute! She's the perfect center for a flower or any ones world! Certainly mine! I love her! She just screams BRIGHT COLORS PLEASE!

Tuesday and 80 OH MY!

So it's 80 today! It's beautiful and sunny and windy and 80! It's about time! So Em found her missing tooth in her bed last night! WOO HOO! No worries about where it could be! It was actually quite big, I'm surprised she didn't find it sooner! Anyhoo I'm in a baking frenzy today baking brownies for the teacher appreciation luncheon tomorrow! I only need 80! HA! I'm tired of chocolate so I'm moving on to blondies! I also have to finish Mrs. Stanis' gift and get it all wrapped up. Phew Em was upset I didn't have it for her yesterday! OOOPS Mommy has just run out of time this week!

So here is a photo of my toothless wonder! HA She can't help but give that goofy smile! And now she's lost the ability to say T's clearly! Abbi says she talks like her!

And for good measure and to be fair here is a picture of the Other One(I call her this a lot! HA) She hates having her picture taken now which is sad she used to pose so sweetly for me! Now it's a pout or the back of her head as she runs away! Screaming the whole time how she hates having her picture taken! ARGGHH This too shall pass! I hope!
