Happy Sunday, I'm over on the A2Z Scrapbooking Blog today here!  Today I am sharing water colored card using one of my favorite Stencils this season the Hero Arts Message Wreath SA006 Christmas.   First I water colored the background with Red Watercolor Paint onto watercolor paper.   Once this was dry I added the Wreath with White Embossing Paste then I water colored it with Green Watercolor Paint.  Once everything was dry the NOEL in Gold Embossing Paste went down.  At this point the Red Pearls were added as well as the ribbon.  Everything was layered onto an Eggshell Card Blank.   I hope you like it.  Thank you for stopping by today!

Smile Lillies

Happy Columbus Day,  I'm over on the A2Z Scrapbooking Blog Today!  Today I am sharing a pretty card using an amazing Hero Arts Antique Gratitude CL780.  The focal point flower in this set is Amazing Lilies so I colored them like Tiger Lillies with watercolor pencils.  The background is also watercolored. The piece is cut into an oval and layered onto Orange Cardstock. The flower has gold Wink of Stella centers and stamens which are hard to pick up in the photograph.  The greeting "SMILE" comes from  Hero Arts A Little CL758.  It's stamped in black and then glossed up with Glaze Pen.  I created a background with a Hero Arts Stencil  and some Gold Embossing Paste on Kraft Layering Paper. There are a couple of little gold rhinestones for more shine at the bottom.  The entire piece was popped up onto a Kraft Card.   I hope you like it.  Thank you for stopping by today!

You Are So Kind – Impressionist Watercolor

Good Morning, I'm over on the A2Z Scrapbooking Blog today.  Today I am sharing a watercolor card.  I love when you use a solid image and just watercolor the openings in the images.  Today I did it a little different I overinked my Versamark pad and inked my image right away creating a splotchy affect when stamping and embossing with clear embossing powder.  I thought I wouldn’t love this one but out of the 3 I stamped after inking my pad this is the one I loved it is less perfect than the others creating that artistic affect.   Once the image is heat embossed just add watercolor or dye ink watered down to the open areas.  I recommend doing the background first then adding color to the flowers, stems and leaves.  This will allow for cleanup in the actual images with more water.  Make the project is completely dry before assembling your project.  The paper the image and greeting are on are Watercolor paper.  I love the added little button and twine.  For links to the products used in this project check the blog post HERE.  Or head on over to the A2Z Scrapbooking Store and take 15% off using the code marnie15.  Have a wonderful day.

Don’t forget to play along with our August Challenge the theme is Encouragement.

Encouragement Challenge!

There is a new Challenge today over at the a2z Scrapbooking Blog.  The theme is encouragement. Check it out HERE.  You could win a $25 gift card that's not to bad so be sure to participate!

Here is my take on the Challenge:

I used the Studio 490 white embossing paste and  the Quilt Motif stencil on Watercolor paper and let it dry.  Then I added some of my Peerless watercolors to the paper I pre-wet and just let them float around when the color got to where I wanted it I set it aside and when it was almost dry I wiped off the embossing paste which acts a bit like a resist it takes a small amount of the color but resists the rest.  I love the affect.  The "a little" and Hug are from the Hero Arts A Little stamp set I stamped these in Archival ink and then colored the paper with some of the Wendy Vecchi Archival inks, which is what gives them the most vibrant colors.  I cut them out and popped them up on the card.  The heart is from  the Hero Arts Your So Kind Stamp set Iif you look closely you will see my card as the sample for this product, very exciting).  I stamped it on green and embossed it with glitter embossing powder and then a couple of layers of clear embossing powder to make it stand out. It's punched and layered on a little purple scallop(I needed one more color right).  I added some speckles with white acrylic paint(D) and a little mist of black with my marker spritzer. Everything was then cut and layered onto my card.

I hope you like it and if your inspired to recreate it head on over to the a2z Scrappbooking store and use the code Marnie15 to get 15% off any $25 order!

Have a great day and go create something wonderful for someone special!
