They call it the Windy City....

Because of days like this.  I don't think it got as windy as they predicted last night but  certainly enough to make the walls of the house shake a bit every time it hit hard.  We took down our Tomato hanger last night all of in the dark with dirt swirling all around us trying to get the bag all cleaned out.  I was surprised by how many tomatoes I still had growing.  They were mostly green but still....  So the wind is still going not much rain left but it's gusting once in awhile.  Poor Emily had to take her Trombone to school today and the case was catching the wind as she tried to walk.  Hopefully it will die down by this afternoon.

So the card above is another from my Fall Flower Soft Fun Class this Thursday!  Be sure to check out the new November Calendar and samples for classes that are starting to come in daily.  Flickr is pretty up to date.

Stormy Rainy Night

I tried reall hard to take pictures of the storm tonight it's hard to see the rain coming down in the dark.

Teaching Today

More samples from today's class at Craft Fancy.  I had fun doing new techniques with my spellbinders and Sizzix Dies.  Hopefully everyone will love them today.  Sorry my posts are short this week not a lot of extra time to chat chat chat.  But after Saturday I'll be back!

Class This Week

So I'm in the middle of craft fair prep for next weekend at Cantigny.  So many ideas so little time.    I just wanted to pop in and share some samples with you for my class tomorrow at Craft Fancy.  Discovering Die Cuts.  Lots of fun.  These are just 2 of the items we'll be making!

So Yummy Saturday

So my goal for this weekend is to craft it up for the craft fair coming up.   To that end the weather has cooled off and become the perfect amount of gloomy that you want to nest inside the house and do crafty things.  For me crafty things always includes baking.  I've baked my entire life.  I so got ungrounded by making my  Dad brownies with walnuts when I was a teenager.  Or I remember making snicker doodles and winning blue ribbons at the county fair!   Totally my favorite thing to do in the kitchen.  I love cooking but baking is my favorite.  One of my favorite websites is The Pioneer Woman and she has these Cinnamon Rolls I have so wanted to make forever.  The planets aligned with a perfect fall day for snuggling in and making these rolls.  They are perfect for my plan  today since there are a couple of hours of rising so I can work on my crafty things.  Then the girls and I literally covered the counters with dough, butter, cinnamon and sugar!  Everyone pitched in and we had a great time making them and running around he neighborhood delivering just out of the oven cinnamon rolls to all of our favorite people!

I am proud to add that Emily has a talent for baking.  She made the most perfect and yummy Chocolate Chip cookies last weekend while I was working.  So much so that when I came home I asked Dave where all the cookies were(there were 8 left).  He just grinned and asked me "where do you think".  Oh well I got a couple.

So then it was back to crafting and so me and 5 munchkins sat around and made shrinky dinks, luckily it's kinda cool outside so the oven going all day isn't toooooo bad.  The girls did wings and horses and cutesy Hello Kitty Dies.   Matthew did sports stuff even taking a football helmet and making a bears helmet out of it.

Earlier in the day I had thrown hashbrowns with cheese and sour cream in the crock pot and put some polish sausage on top so that was dinner tonight.  We refer to it as heart attack on a plate but it oh so yummy!  And we make it when Dave is out out town since he doesn't like Polish Sausage including the smell of it cooking.   Fortunately both girls and I do like it and so do their friends.  Yummy!

A Beautiful Day

It has totally been a beautiful day!  Started a bunch of work for the craft fair and some Etsy orders.  Got most of the house cleaned up.  Trying as always to stay on top of laundry. Making a wonderful Balsamic Roast for dinner and then later munchies so Dave and I can pretend its date night  after the kids go to bed with a movie and snacks in the Family Room.   We will just pretend we are out and about and all alone.   I still have that nice bottle of wine Dave got me for my birthday and we have a new movie that just came so it should be fun.

Big plans for this weekend to get all of my craft fair items done so I can package and price next week.  I also have one more set of class samples to finish up and I'm done with classes for this month!  COOL  And I want to try a new cinnamon roll recipe tomorrow.  Oooh Yummy!

The card above is from one of my distress classes over the summer.  We embossed metal and alcohol inked it.  This is one of the techniques we learned when we saw Tim in Michigan in the spring.

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!  We will!
