Daves Pumpkin with Special Affects!

Or a Hacking Cough? Dave designed this to work with our fog machine! It's very funny to watch.
I love how it still fills up our front porch with the fog.
And with Em's pumpkin next to it. Doesn't hers look appalled! Cover your mouth JEEEEEZE! Where's the NO SMOKING SIGN? HEEE HEEEE HEEE
So we woke up this morning to real fog. We have neighbors with Halloween lights and such so when I stuck my head out of the door it was eery! Very cool! I tried for pics but the fog was a little dense I wasn't really getting the lights through it.
Only 2 more days till Halloween is everyone ready?

Happy Birthday MOM!!! Wicked Cute + a DT Call

Happy Happy Birthday Mom! Hope you had a great day! Have you seen the Schlosser Designs Stamps? We have them at Craft Fancy! They are lots of fun, clear stamp with many many uses. Plus they are now having a Design Team Call which sounds like great fun! Here I used the Ice Cream Cone and Tray from the Hey Cupcake set to create this cute little hat from double dots. The doggy is Hero Arts and the words are American Crafts Letter Stamps.

Hope everyone is having a great week!

Emily's Creation

Abbi's Creation

So here are the first half of the results of last nights fun with pumpkin guts and such. They are super cute. I love how my scrapping and stamping stuff has rubbed off on the girls. They each did sketches which just cracks me up! Things changed a bit when they had to correct errors and such but otherwise pretty dead on. Wait until you see Dave's creation. That's a whole other post but this is what we have so far!

Happy Monday!

Pumpkins Pumpkins Everywhere

So today was BEAUTIFUL well earlier(back to drizzling rain) but it was very sunny this afternoon! We were able to head out to the Pumpkin Patch and do a little photography and then pick up gourds and some butternut squash for soup. We also went on the hayride which was fun. We made it into and out of the parking lot without getting stuck in the mud(we were very very lucky). I even got some beautiful pics of fall colors on the way home.

Right now my kitchen looks like a pumpkin exploded in it though. Or maybe 3. We are mid pumpkin carving and there are guts and seeds everywhere! Dave is engineering Abbi's pumpkins eyes(gourds) to fit in their sockets with paper clips there is talk of eyelashes. I saw her sketch not sure where it is going! Then on to Emily's and his(he's talking about picking up road flairs, be afraid people!). I will definitely share photos of them when their done and/or lit. HA I'm seeing that flaming pumpkin we had a couple of years ago. It didn't burn out for hours! EEEK

Ok so these pumpkin tags remind me a little of Abbi's sketch, although hers has one green eye and one yellow eye. The stamp is Heidi Grace and I colored them with my Copics' . Shapes are cut with my Spellbinders Netabilities Label 2.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

OOOH Pretties!

Photo from Country Living

OOOOH I want to do this on my porch well a much smaller scale as my porch is not very big. But isn't it beautiful. I'm going to find my little metal shelves that the kids play with and paint them black and put them out with pretty pumpkins and gourds.

So things are quiet here. Emily is back at school today. She hasn't had a fever since Tuesday Afternoon but she has a harsh sounding cough. She really didn't want to miss anymore school it's boring at home being made to lay down all the time. She spent yesterday playing piano and snacking in front of the TV. She was thrilled with lunch though. She requested grilled PB&J, "but like Aunt Paula makes!" this was the stipulation. Not that I really knew what that meant. So as I was heading downstairs to make it, she was asking me if I had that powder? I couldn't figure it out, then she changed it to flour. I got it she was talking about Powdered Sugar. Ahhh Light Bulb Moment. That's apparently how Aunt Paula makes it? So when I was done and put it on the table she said the sweetest thing. "See Mommy that looks like Christmas!" Who doesn't want their lunch to look like Christmas or for that matter taste like Christmas!

Trying to figure out what to do this weekend. I really want to hit the Zoo for Boo at the Zoo but if it's going to be raining the entire time it might be a bummer and wet. Plus we still have the pumpkin patch to do, carving pumpkins, our haunted gingerbread house etc. etc. So many things so little time!

Starting My Christmas List (Early?Maybe Not!)

While blog hopping the other day I saw a Christmas countdown, you know the one that's a Christmas tree on the sidebar! Totally freaked me out it was at 67 days. That was a couple of days ago! EEEK Who knew it was coming so fast? I've been too busy enjoying Fall to think about what lies beyond. So I've decided to start my Holiday list making. I plan to share as often as I can.

First Up - My kids want these convertible mittens. They have a friend with them and are dying for a pair themselves. These are very cool I found them on Etsy they are by DebzCreations. She has tons of them in different sizes, colors and patterns. I love how they have a little button on the back! Very clever! See my list is taking shape! I also checked with her she does special orders and says things are moving fast. Better get our orders in, just think one thing done!
Sadly our fishy Spots passed away yesterday afternoon. He was almost 3 years old. He could barely swim at the end it was very sad. But he is our longest living fish! We'll miss watching him make nests for babies that would never come. He was a beta fish so he lived alone! Daddy and the Girls said their goodbyes! He was a very very good fish! Abbi seemed Ok with this, I mean we were all prepared he's not been doing well for awhile. She was telling her friend from the car pool this morning how she released(nice way of saying flushed) him and "maybe he was in that pond over there or maybe that one over on that side". Where do they get these things?

Antique Store Find

Found a baggie full of vintage road maps in an Antique Mall when I was down in Franklin, TN. I've been making envelopes with them for birthday cards and such. But after getting my new Blossom Nestability from Spellbinders I decided to make this very fun set of dimensional flowers. They are larger over 3" in diameter. I distressed the map with alcohol ink and added some Making Memories nail heads. Roughed up the edges a bit and it's the perfect embellishment!

Ok as promised a happy note can I just say Abbi and Matthew are back on! Carrie we can resume planning the wedding! I asked today if they were in Love again and was informed "yes Yes and YES!". Oh to be 6 again, when you don't care if he likes your best friend sometimes!

New Neighbors and Cool Weather

It's been a rough couple of weeks. So I'll just do highlights. New neighbors which we've had for awhile but didn't want to bother them until recently. I made this card to go with our gift for them using the OddBirdPlanet Tall House and some fun Aqua papers. Colored with Copics. The words are by Stampin Up.

Then we had the lice scare at school, luckily not in our house yet but Emily had to get a change of clothes one day since her locker buddy had it. EEEK We're obsessed with checking now. I completed the walk for Diabetes a couple of weeks ago. We had perfect weather. WCMD at the store was nutty but good! Finally got through the Pink Crop. The kids were off a couple of days but had sore throats and no voices most of the time. They were over it in time to head back to school. Reflections is coming to a close for entries. And then My Grandma Vera passed away 2 Sundays ago. Sooo sad she will be so greatly missed. We had the memorial service this past weekend. All of the family was together which was wonderful but farewells are always hard. Hopefully I can touch on more fun stuff in coming weeks. I do have a bunch of fun projects to add!
