Busy Busy Busy

No matter how busy I think I am any other time of year October is by far the busiest month or so it seems to me every year. There is so much leading up to the holiday's and coming after the start of school it just seems to start so suddenly in Oct. I know in December I'll be saying the same thing but now I'm starting to think about what I have to do for the Holidays so it's already creeping in and double it with Halloween, starting a new Daisy troop, Room mom stuff for the Halloween Party and my upcoming Calendar class and well I'm booked solid. YIKES Oh well it's a good kind of busy and the kids have been really going along and helping me out. Everyone pitched in and helped clean house this weekend which was splendid. Sat. we got all our banking done and dropped off a donation for the food drive at school we also stopped and picked up stuff from the library for the week and then I had a very successful workshop. Only 3 people plus the hostess but it still turned out well. This group has a workshop about once or twice a year and they stock up. Sunday was off to Kyle and Haley's football game for only 1/2 since Abbi was so beside herself with the cold. She was not digging it! Poor kid nothing for a 2yr old to do and she totally didn't get why we were there. So we left just before the rain started. Thank goodness. After we got home Ab's slept from 10:30 - 3 she was exhausted from all the tantrums. Later that day Dave's parents and Aunt Dottie stopped by we had a nice visit before they had to head out to visit Marc & Paula.

So that was my weekend in a nutshell today Abs and I went to Mikes to get paint and she really was so wonderfully behaved like yesterday never even happened my little angel. Too cold to really play outside the kids could barely stand it more spatterings of freezing rain. I did get the backyard picked up finally.

Right now I'm working on the 6x6 calendar class for Thursday as soon as I get a couple completed I'll post them here.
The changing colors yesterday at the football game. It was very cold low 50's gloomy windy with rain but the colors on the trees made it a happy place! That and all the cheering! Posted by Picasa

FREEDOM! Freedom!

Sorry I love my husband I really do but a month and a half is just too tooooooo much to spend day and night with each other. Today Dave started working again! WOOO HOOO!

Now I wasn't this thrilled at 6:30 AM when every single person in my house was up and energetic but as the day progressed and I got so many things done I was thrilled beyond belief. I remember feeling this way when he started staying home! I got tons done then too! What we need is a job where he works 3 months and is off and home a couple of days then works three months and off and so on! Does it exist? I don't know but maybe it will be my quest!

We met Jen and Samantha at the Pumpkin Patch this morning it was really fun! Really cold, you can see them shivering in the pic above (54 degrees) but really fun! I know it was 70 last week. Gotta love the weather here! The girls went on the ponies and in the petting zoo and they even road the Camel! How awesome is that! Last Year they wanted nothing to do with the Camel. Then we went to IHOP for lunch! Gotta love the IHOP and I adore their BLT's with REAL bacon. LOL I refuse to cook bacon anymore too too messy! So we still do not have pumpkins the girls were too excited to pick them out have to go back for carving pumkins. I did get some gorgeous mums and a few gords. Have to plant the mums then I'll pretty much be ready for the HOLIDAY. Well I'm on a quest for a giant spider for the side of my house going to check at Walgreens! I've seen them twice now!

After lunch we dropped Em at shcool and ran some errands! Oh and paid for the Market Day I forgot yesterday! Such a Deadbeat!!! However since I wasn't having my Wed. crop and instead doing a workshop at someones house I totally forgot it was actually Wed. I didn't do my regular routine! Ooops no more changes on Market Day Day! LOL I'm really like a 1 year old aren't I routine routine routine! On the upside I think the workshop went well even though there weren't many people well it was decent but one was Christine(my upline) so no sale and a couple others had to cancel but are sending orders in! So all in all a quiet group that finished their M&T quickly since it was less sharing and then we got to scrap so very very cool!

After school we played then headed home and I made dinner then went to a Jewelry Party that one of the other Room Moms held. Very cool stuff reasonable prices so that's nice I think I'm going to do one next month it will be perfect for holiday gifts! Saw lots of things for my mom and MIL.

Anyway that's about it! Off to test some tortilla chips. Looking for the best commercial brand as I'm a little over the Tostito's! LOL

Getting There!

Good morning. Well things are moving along. Dave is still home, AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH........Ok I'm done screaming. It has to end soon right?

The kids well Gymnastics ended and I have to sign them up again. This time both on Wed. I think they can take classes 10min apart. We'll see how that goes for a few weeks. I can always change next session. Plus less missed days for Holidays since it's midweek. School is going along nicely and Emily can now read some of her easy reader Phonic books all by herself that is just the most amazing thing to me. It happened so quickly. Abbigayle on the otherhand only wants to do I Spy books now? It's a phase I'm sure. How many times do or will I say that I wonder?

So on to better things. Stamp Camp went well, lots of cards made and everyone had a great time. The Calendar Class is coming up at the end of the month I'm looking forward to that. I have 2 workshops this week so that is cool. And I'm planning a large Christmas camp at a church for an organization which will be interesting. Keeps me on my toes!

The room Mom thing at school is odd since there's three of us it's hard to figure out stuff. We are meeting later this afternoon so we'll see how much we get done. I have to pick up some stuff for the craft and then we can get started with that.

I am now offically a Girl Scout. It only took 37 years to become one ROFL. Well I had to become a Girl Scout to be troop leader for Em's Daisy Troop. Very exciting! Can't wait to do stuff with that! We have 8 girls and lots of moms that want to help!

The CC Design Team stuff is going ok. I finally got my headshot actually Dave took it, kinda like pulling teeth but I like it at least. We are awaiting our kits to create with, due to Memory Trends(everyone was there buying cool stuff for us!!!! YIPPY!) they didn't ship until late last week. Hopefully today my mailman will be happy when I stop glaring at him! LOL I entered the Gin-X contest and a couple of layouts for the Add-On kit they were using Pixel Decor which has some really way cool colors. I am working on the Chatterbox Home Decor contest can't wait to see what everyone does so far the entries are amazing! I ordered the album for the mini album contest but I may not get it and still have time to do it depends on how much other stuff I get done and how quickly. I love Croppers Cottage there is always something fun going on and our Monthly challenges this month are way cool. I keep meaning to ask if anyone wants an Ad Challenge I have been tearing out ads forever I have a stack now! Hopefully this will serve as a reminder to do so!

Ok so that's the update for now! I'll be checking back in and maybe just maybe I'll have something witty and clever to say? Ok ok NOT!

Shooting Ones Self In The Foot

Hello again. So it's only a full month + since I've blogged. What's happening? Well lets see CKU was AWESOME but exhausting. Mucho creative surge since then. Back into the SU swing of things getting camps going again slowly but surely. Maybe I should take a couple months off in summer it's hard to get back. So more on Octobers camp in my next post. Anyway back to last month. I was in a weekly contest at scribbles.com started with 40 I was eliminated at 25 after 4 weeks. And yes it's official I autditioned/applied for 10 design teams this year and Finally I made one online at my favorite store www.cropperscottage.com. You have to check out the call thread they called while we were driving to TN it was way funny! I'm so excited I can't even see straight can't wait to get started so I've been scrapping like mad! Working on a couple contests and challenges for the board. I'm relieved to have met my goal for this year(make a DT). Dave was funny he said but you only tried for 3 months. I said DUDE it's October I've tried since the begining of the year. Proof positive he doesn't pay attention to my scrapping! Good thing? Bad thing? I'm going to go with somewhat of both! LOL The girls got their new bunkbeds finally and I really mean FINALLY! If you ever consider buying furniture from North Carolina because it's cheaper come to me first I will explain what you have to do and how. What a learning experience in general incompitence. I swear I could have built the furniture faster! It only took 6 months.

D is offically out of work now so in an effort to do something in the house and something with him I started painting various rooms in the house..... You can see it the Shooting of my own foot can't you? Anyway like a mad woman one morning I started ripping wallpaper from the kitchen walls then by 6pm I was buying Taupe paint for the Family room walls and ripping everything out of my bathroom to paint. Not sure how it got upstairs to the bath but it seemed logical at the moment really it did! Mind you the kitchen still has a bit of wallpaper on it that needs to be removed and the bath upstairs isn't even taped and ready to be painted. Yup that's right one more month of my house in complete disaray. The family room however is a wonderful shade of Taupe(silver fox by BM) and the 3 year hole in my ceiling is finally gone for good. That ceiling is being painted down there as we speak. I finally have the girls room and playroom completly set up and organized. And if I could get rid of that darn giant green chair in my room I'd be getting my LR in order! LOL Anyone want a giant forrest green arm chair with itchy fabric?

The past 2 weeks we've all had a touch of a cold just passing it around. Abbi is the last one to have it and I'm hoping she kicks it soon. The weather is cool and crisp now and we've got our halloween deocrations up. I still have to do the cobwebs on the stairs then we get pumpkins and such. I've been crockpot cooking all weekend since we're trying to stay healthy. Chili, soups and stews. Abbi doesn't want dinner in a bowl anymore I think! The look on her face when I put a bowl of beef stew in front of her was "did all the plates break mommy?". She thinks I'm crazy with my bowl food I'm sure!

We went to Nashville last weekend to see my mom. I'm sad I didn't make it to the Puffy Muffin my very most favorite place ever down there that means no chicken salad and no pimento spread and no poppy seed bread WAHHHHHHHHH. Oh and I found out yesterday there is a new scrapbook store in the Factory which I also didn't make it to since I didn't know it was there! So I have an agenda for our next trip!

Ok so now we are caught up minus the nitty gritty details! LOL I'll be back with pics of camp this weekend! It's 10 for $10 we're making Christmas cards so check it out! I know I can never have enough Christmas cards!
