Peaceful Butterfly Sky

Butterflyrigns
Good Morning,  I'm over at the Memory Box Blog again today.  And well summer is almost here.  For the kids anyway....  What does that mean for the parents?  OMG we have to come up with a way to entertain them for 2 1/2 months.  EEEK  Ok I have 1 week to get my ideas together!  In the mean time I'm looking forward to non rainy days with this card, which reminds me of a summer sky full of butterflies and fluffly clouds.  For the background I used  Large Ringlets 98790 cut out of mirror card and for the butterflies I used Peaceful Butterfly Wings 98880 (I cut them out of the background), and Butterfly Delights 98130 also used were the  Mini Clouds 98689.
I hope you like this summery card!  Have a Wonderful Day!

Bare Branches Debossed

Debossbranch
Good Afternoon everyone!  Today I'm sharing another debossed stencil idea on the Memory Box Blog.  I really love this technique.  Here I used the Bare Branches Stencil 88556 and debossed with brown Momento ink.  I then used Distress Ink  to build up color on the background.    I added a bunch of little yellow Star Flowers 98892 to the branches with a little glitter in the centers and some pink Butterfly Delights 98130 flying through the sky.   Hope you like it.
Thank you so much for stopping by this beautiful day!

May - Bombshell Color Challenge

Our new Bombshell May Color Challenge begins today!  Here is what we were challenged to work with!

Here is my take a little circular mini album that I painted and techniqued to within an inch
of it's life.  I used the Vintage Raceway Digital Stamp for the main image.

Star Flash Stencil - Deboss/Letterpress - Tutorial

Debosstutorial
Good Morning!  We have almost reached the end of our Blog Blitz on the Memory Box Blog, I hope you are enjoying everyones amazing projects.  Today I'm showing you how to Deboss/Letterpress  with the Star Flash 88542 Designer Stencil and the Cuttlebug.  You can absolutely use this same technique to Emboss just eliminate the coloring and flip your paper over when you take it off the Cuttlebug plates.
Debosstutorial1
First start with your Cuttlebug the A platform, two B plates, 1 rubber embossing mat and 2 metal shims.  Mine our different sizes only because that's all I have.  You will also need 1 sheet of cardstock similar dimensions to the stencil 4 3/4" x 6 1/4".  This will protect your rubber embossing mat from getting ink on it and you can cut down your piece when your done.
Debosstutorial2
Plase the A platform, one metal shim and a B plate on top of that onto the Cuttlebug.
DebosstutorialColoring
Now with a marker color your stencil.  In this case I used a water based marker they will dry slower.  The marker color used was Faded Jeans Distress ink.
Debosstutorial3
Lay the rubber embossing mat onto the B plate then the paper.  Gently lay the stencil onto the cardstock without moving it around or it will smudge the cardstock.
Debosstutorial4
Finally lay the other metal shim over the stencil and then the last B plate onto the cuttlebug.  You can forgo the second metal shim, however the impression will not be as deep or prominant.
Debosstutorial5
I love the Star Flash stencil and I was even more thrilled with it when I discovered the Star Show Stencil matches up to the stars on it.  This makes it so much fun to color in some of the stars.
Debosstutorial6
I Love Love how it lines up!  The technique possibilities are endless!  Here I just sponged some Mustard Seed Distress ink into the open stars.
Debosstutorial7
I tried to get a decent photograph of how the ink is imbedded in the cardstock.  I did add some stickles to the yellow stars to
Debosstutorial8
Finally I added the word Congrats to the card since the stars make me think of all of the Graduations I have coming up.  The alphabet used for the word is teh Script Lowercase Alphabet 98896 this fits together nicely to form full words.
Debosstutorial9
Another close up of the stars.  Thank you so much for stopping by today.  Be sure to leave a comment on this post to win a Star Flash Designer Stencil of your own!  Good Luck and have a Wonderful day!

Still Going - C is for

Omg 2 months in a row.  I was in a hurry this month not sure what that was all about it's been a bit crazy as May generally is!  Here I used one of my Digital Car stamps from Bombshell Stamps.  This one is from King of the Road.  Love how fun it turned out.

C is for Car

This one I went back to mist.  The mist I made myself with gold glaze and water.  Love how shimmery it is.  I colored the card with distress inks and vintagized it because it needed it.  Then misted it with watered down spray.  I'm still perfecting my calligraphy with the chisel of my Copic markers.  I need to get some different nibs someone told me about.  Truly my hand forgets the shape of the nib.

Fab Friday Tutorial - Pan Pastels

Good Morning, I'm over on the Bombshell Blog with a tutorial today.   We are creating a Soft Pan Pastel Water Background.  I recently starting using Pan Pastels and love how they create fun pastel backgrounds that can be vibrant and/or soft.    The Pan Pastels used today are Phthalo Blue Tint(very pale), Turquoise(medium color) and Phthalo Blue(bold color).  Also used were, a Wave Stencil and the foam applicator that goes with the Pan Pastels.   Banner stamps used were Mermaid Treasure and Banner Sayings.

Before beginning I added a glue dot to the back of the white cardstock and to the stencil to keep things from moving around.  I like glue dots they just roll right off when your done.  Starting with the lightest color I rubbed across the stencil right to left(I'm a righty).  This particular stencil is delicate so it's important not to go too crazy.  I did continue to add color until all of the paper was colored.
Next comes the medium color.   Rubbing color in right to left, starting into the lightest color to create and ombre look.
Now we move on to the darkest color and repeat the steps above continuing the ombre affect.

Pick up the stencil.  There will be specs of pastel on your piece.  With a paper towel rub right to left over the entire piece this will soften the look.  If you want the white to be more vibrant do the swiping before pulling up the stencil.  Also I edged the entire piece with the darkest pastel so it would pop a bit.  Now you can build your card.
I have begun collecting the Pan Pastels here is how I catalog my current colors.

Here is the completed project I used Mermaid Treasure and colored her with Copic Markers then cut her out and popped her up on the card with foam tape.  Also used was the Banner Saying set to create the greeting which is also cut out and foam taped onto the card.   I also used some glossy accents to add some bubbles to the front of the card to continue the underwater feel.

Thanks for stopping by I hope you enjoyed the little tutorial today.
