Bold Watercolor Birthday

Good Morning!  We've had unseasonably warm weather lately.  Like 60 degrees warm in December.  But in Chicago that doesn't mean warm sunshiney weather.  nooooooooooooooooo....  That generally means Wind(lots of wind) and rain and wait a second.... is that the sun?  5min later storm clouds....  Well you get it if you wait a minute the weather will change.

It's had me thinking of sunshine a flowers though and so today I have for you a fun card and break from Christmas.  I actually made this back in October for a friends birthday card.
I've used Brusho's for the background and for the flowers which I embossed with white and cut out.  The stamp set is WPlus9.  I stamped the stems in dark green then popped the flowers up on them.  The Happy Birthday is a die cut by Cheery Lynn.  I've cut them out of white and added glossy accents to them.  They also look embossed onto the front of the card. The finished card is actually and A7 card a new size for me to work in but more space.  Love Love how this one turned out the bright colors just make you happy!

Ok so now after all that flowery fun I'm off to wrap Christmas presents and start my Holiday Baking!  Can't wait to fill the house with Chrsitmasy smells!

Have a Wonderful day thank you so much for stopping by!

Lawnscaping Challenge -

My Challenge Card for Lawnscaping Challenge No. 55  Embossing on your project.

I embossed the cardstock with the Asian M-Bossabilities from Spellbinders cut a circle out and layered it with foam tape on top of gold Mirror card.  The Fortune Cookie from Good Fortune was stamped colored with copic and cut out along with the fortune this was then layered with foam tape as well.  I tied a bit of Black Ribbon as well.  Hope you like it!  Thanks for stopping by!

Quick NO Bake Cake

A quick sample using the new die from Memory Box Die Magnificent Cake.  I also used a Lifestyle Craft Embossing folder for the background.  The cake is stunning no matter how you put it together.  I used the cut out pieces to make the flower on the cake.

More Bees - Playing with the Diffuser

I finally got around to playing with the Tim Holtz Diffusers and the Honeycomb Embossing folder.  I can't believe I was intimidated by them.  So simple and such a cool affect.  I've also used the Memory Box Jolly Bumble Bees and the Honey Bee Skep as well as the greeting from Lawn Fawns Bee Mine stamp set.

We did a little shopping at ABT yesterday and in 3 more days my new dryer arrives this is my Valentine gift WOO HOO.  I can't wait to do laundry!  For real not that I haven't done laundry for the last two months I've just been hanging everything to dry.  Which is very time consuming considering how little space we really have to hang laundry.  So I am a bit behind.  You can see how my Friday will go right.  That's ok I'm looking forward to warm fresh laundry out of the dryer.

Enough about my laundry issues their just boring.  Tonight after Em's Chorus rehersal we are baking Yummies for the Art Clubs Valentine Party and working on Ab's b-day party invites.  That is more exciting!  Can't wait to get crafty with the girlies once they are home from school and activities.  It will be a great kick off to the week.

Happy New Week.  for stopping by!

Another 50th Wedding Anniversary

The second 50th Wedding Anniversary Card I was asked to make.   Digging more into my fancy paper flower stash.    I love the way it turned out.  The bow got a little curled when I slid it into the box.  OOOOPS!

Ice Princess Copic Coloring

For the card set and tag above I used Copic Markers to color the MFT Ice Princess stamp.  Below is  a step out of that coloring.  I chose my colors from my patterned paper and then used my swatch ring "ring of fire" to match it to markers.

Hopefully this all is as clear as mud.  These step outs are a work in progress for me.

The skirt is stamped and cut out from patterned paper.

The only thing I did not include are the skates I added a little W1 to the skates and C0 to the blades.  They barely requried coloring.  The shadows on the complete images are done with B0000 and C0.

Hopefully this was helpful to someone.  Have a great day.

Thank You Miss Bailey

Miss Bailey was so kind to give Abbi the help she needed in her Ice Skating lessons to help her pass on to Level 5.  We are so proud of Abs for how hard she worked to get her turns and cross overs.

I used the Ice Princess stamp from My Favorite Things and made a set of note cards with this adorable tag for Bailey.   I guessed that purple was her favorite color based on her blade guards.  Hope I was was right everything is very purple.  I cut out her name from Mirror Card the Memory Box Die Set Parker Upper and Lower.  The paper is Memory Box.   I also used the Snowflakes Cuttlebug embossing folder.   I am almost sure the stamps and dies came from our LSS Craft Fancy of course.

I know I've been a bit MIA lately.  But I swear I have been working hard I have lots of photos to edit and share of all of my recent projects I am just working through them.  One of the step outs I have is the coloring of these cards with the Copic Markers.  I have also finished all of my custom orders and have pictures to share.

Hope everyone has a wonderful week.

Copic Coloring Class

I'm teaching a copic class today featuring stamps from Claudine Helmuth, Lawn Fawn, Penny Black and Memory Box.

April Showers Challenge & D.B. Cooper

So this is my last challenge for awhile.  I've been having a great time but now it's time to get serious about class samples and break outs!  Wait till you see what I have in store for Copic classes this month!  WOOOOOOT!!!!!  Ok enough about that.  For the challenge over at the Creative Card Crew the theme was April Showers so we can see some May Flowers!  I'm all for that.  So I created the card below:

So I used some new Echo park papers and a few Spellbinders dies along with some SU punches.  The ribbon is PTI.  The stamp is a Unity Stamp * Rain or Shine.   I also added some stickles at the end.  Image Colored with Copic Colors are as follows  Umbrella R02, R05 & R08 - Dress YG03 & YG05 - Skin E000 & E01 - Rain Boots  Y02 & Y06 - Mans shirt C5 & C7 - Jeans B93, B95 & B97 - Boots E35 & E37 - Rain BG10 & C1

So on to more odd stories from our household.  I know I've mentioned this before but my 10 year old daughter is completely obsessed with the D.B. Cooper legend and mystery.  She was watching yet another history channel program on him this week right about the time they were assigned an invitation to research and write about for an end of year expository writing essay and dimensional project.  So she was very quick to get approval to do her invitation on D.B. Cooper before someone else in her class snatched him up.... Cracks me up because how many 10 year olds know about this legendary criminal? Ex. One of her best friends is trying to find a book on the Black Eyed Peas so she can do hers on the band, mainly Fergie because she's a big fan.   So tonight began the research into D.B. Cooper and the search for a suit coat and tie for her to wear(because that's what he was wearing when he jumped out of the plane).   This weekend begins the treck to the big library to find all the books she can.  And much like the Cival War we will learn and know much more than most would want to about D.B. Cooper.  At least she didn't want to do it on Ghost Hunters that's her current favorite TV Show EEEEK......

Thanks for stopping by hope your having a splendid week.

Just Batty

So when Spellbinders came out with this Bat Die I fell in love.   I adored the mobile in their booth at CHA and that image got stuck in my head.    Then that image got stuck in my head!  When the die came into the store I put it in my pile to by, I took it out.  I looked at it for a couple of weeks adding it and taking it out of my basket.  Then Margie the brilliant made a lovely bat banner for the Spellbinders blog and I was hooked!   I had to have it.  So here is my first creation with this fabulous die.  I'm excited and I have lots of ideas for it.  And maybe I'll have time to make my own mobile.    I love how my modified Iris Folding came out.   Very Spooooooky!

We had another beautiful day today fresh and sunny and just a little crisp in the morning.  Couldn't ask for better.  This evening though I am struggling with a plan for dinner.  I have no idea what to fix.   Nothing jumps out at me and my entire new issue of Bon Appetite and nothing said make me for dinner tonight.  I think it's too nice outside when all the food around me is screaming Fall.

Hope everyone is having a great day!

Hee Hee Heee

So this thank you was for Carol.  I was so excited to use my ATV stamp from Stampin Up.   I've never had a reason for it yet even though I've had it for months.  She and her boyfriend just got matching ATV's for all of their mini trips.  It's cute and kinda looks like hers.

Completed Bleach Cards

Here is the completed  Bleach Card from the Thursday CARS swap meeting.  I just added some twine and a greeting stamped in green.  I like how graphic they are.

Last Night

I started my Bleach Cards for the CARS swap at CraftFancy.  I had a hard time with this one I didn't want to do the same as everyone else and I really liked the Swipe Technique.  So I changed it around a little and did it on top of embossed cardstock.  It turned out pretty cool I just need to add a greeting and it will all be golden.  16 cards done!   I need to make some Thanks Yous as well.  Getting started on that!

Ok back to work!  Have a great day!

Wise Men Say........

It's actually been 12 years today since I married my best friend!  It seems like it was just yesterday we were in Vegas getting married!!!  Happy Anniversary Dave!

Today we have one crazy day planned.  The kids get out of school for the summer before noon.  Lauren is coming after 1:00 for tutoring plus it is her Birthday.   I still have to put the finishing touches on her cupcakes.  Then Grandma is coming over to babysit so we can go out for dinner.  Phew!

Roses Roses

There is a learning curve with these roses.  My first one looked like a bowl!  HA!   I finally got it though and was able to add them to a card for my Vintage Card class at CraftFancy!  They turned out very pretty using the new 7Gypsies papers.  Also used Glitz Designs and American Craft Stamps,  Coordinations paper for Jenni Bowlin, Spellbinders, lace and pearls.

It's getting warmer!

It's been sunny for two days and yesterday things felt fresh!  I can't wait as this week starts it's warm up.

Last nights Quick & Easy Birthday card class was fun.  We laughed and had a great time!  Then it was home to share a late dinner with Dave.  He was sweet he waited for me to get home at 8:30 to eat.  It was nice to eat together by ourselves after the kids were in bed.  Well it was nice until it was time to go to bed and we realized we had eaten so late!  Ughhhh I was full!

So today I'm working on the stuff for Abbi's party on Friday I'm so excited it will be so cute or at least in my head so far it is.  I hope the girls love the little art projects they are going to make!  I'll share here when I get the project samples finished!

Tomorrow I'm teaching Discovering Die Cuts  at Craft Fancy it's the last time we will make these particular projects.  If you can't make it you can always request a kit!  Next month brings an entirely new batch of projects.  3 of the 5 cards we make in the class are above!  Very Springy!  Makes me happy!
