Yet Another Cake Box

I totally missed a box in between this I forgot to take pics of Olivia's pink and blue one with birthday hats.   DUH  Oh well.  This is Cali's she has a Boxer(Hurly) as a bet and I have this punch that looks just like him thus the dogs.

Birthday Cake Boxes

OK so here is the deal.  Dianne and I were invited to a Stampin Up party by the Diane(snicker snicker, she cracks me up)anyway the talented Margaret let us in making the most adorable little box withe a battery operated tea like birthday cake in it.  I fell in love(I know I'm weird).  Since we had at least 6 b-day invites in the works for the next few weeks I decided I would make these for birthday cards for each of the parties the kids had to go to.  Here is my first one.  I have totally altered the original cake box size to accommodate a gift card which was the gift for Izzy's 8th birthday party.
The box base was created from and 8x8 pieces of cardstock.

See I added the words pull here so they knew there was something under there.

I Cut a half circle with a punch to access the gift card.

The purple slide in is just a pieces of cardstock folded over with 1/8" give and foam tape and enough room to slide the pretty gift card into.

Boy Birthday Cake Box Card

Here is a box I made for Carson.   I matched the box the present was delivered in which is how I chose the colors.  Forgive the ugly tablecloth and lighting I'm taking these pics at my table while I'm making the boxes.

Party Party Party

Today was Abbi's Family Party!  We had a great time even if the cake balls didn't turn out exactly like I had envisioned nor did the tower cake but it was fun and yummy none the less.  Dave took the girls to the store and Abbi picked out a cool Dragonfly balloon.  We served Chicken Patties on a bun, it is what she requested and her favorite food recently.  She had fun running around and playing with her cousins and sisters.   Here are a few snapshots.

Happy Happy Birthday Abbigayle

Abbi turns 8 today!   I can't believe my baby is getting so big.   She was so excited she was whispering about it all week. "only 3 more days", "only 2 more days" etc.  This morning she woke up and found the Tangled Tower set up in her room.  Well she woke up around 1:30 am and started playing with her new toy.  She pretended she was asleep when I checked on her, but Dave said she was up playing when he got up at 5.  I'm not sure she slept after noticing we slipped the tower into her room?  We had a special Mommy/Daughter day doing things she wanted to do all day long.  One of her best friends that we drive to school also turns 8 today.  I told everyone that rides in my car as of Friday no one under the age of 8 is allowed to ride.  They thought that was funny.   Abbi's family party will be Sunday until then though she has dinner tonight with the family at on of her favorites and then Izzy's Disco party tomorrow and Izzy's family b-day tomorrow night when we all go.  So she's a busy girl.
