Cross Stitched Love

Good Morning!  I'm over at the Memory Box Blog  today with  another fun card using the Memory Box January 2015 Release.  This was a fun quick card using the Cross Stitched Love 99128 twice on a piece of red mirror card.  I layered the red onto black cardstock and popped it over some very cute satin ribbon hearts on top of the Dot Licorice paper.   This would be a great mass produced card if you had to make some for a full class or office.

LOVE - Modern Style

MarniePinkLove1

Good Morning!  I'm over at the Memory Box Blog  today with  another fun card using the Memory Box January 2015 Release.  I love how modern this card turned out with the bright pink Splendid Clarkia - 99068 flower embedded in the mat silver cardstock and the modern LOVE font from All About the Love - 30005 out of green shimmer cardstock.  This is, of course, part of my Die Cut Discovery class today at CraftFancy this month and will also be featured at the CraftFancy Valentine Make & Take Event this Saturday along with so many more projects created with this line of dies.

Memory Box Blog Blitz - Whispy Long Stem Lavendar

So excited to be on the Memory Box Blog for the New Release Blog Blitz.   Today I have created a card using the Long Lavender Stem - 99108 along with the Studio Square Layers - 30021 and the Tag You're It Squares - 30025.  I die cut lots of little lavender stems and flowers in a couple of shades of purple.  Then I layered them onto a Studio Square I inked with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink.  Any die cut excess I cut off the edges and I added the Tag Frame over the top.  Some lavender tulle and glitter tops off the card.  I had a lavender stem left over so I decorated the inside with the square from the tag frame.

And So it Begins - A New Year of Swaps

It's that time the final swap list is out for the Chicago Area Rubber Stampers or C.A.R.S. stamping group.  We meet at CraftFancy on the second Tuesday of every month except December.  The group has been around for a very long time since Desiree(she is the founder) had her stamp shop in town years ago.

This year I have decided to do only Christmas/Holiday Cards except for September and October where the theme dictates either a season or non-card.   In doing so I will create a couple of extra each month above and beyond the 16 required and keep them for my Holiday cards in December.  I'm excited to be getting a head start on the things I rarely get done around the Holiday's.  Seems wrong when  a card maker doesn't send out holiday cards.

This is the first month's card the theme is Paint Chips so here is what I came up with.  I wend to the hardware store and let the color that inspired me lead me to what I would create.  As always I try to use those supplies I have collected and never or rarely use and/or a technique I've been wanting to try.  (I know you know it's never but I added rarely so I don't sound like a hoarder of craft supplies.....)  This time I've used some Stampin Up snowflakes(had to mount them) a Martha Stewart border punch and the greeting is from a My Favorite Things set which I do used but it was the perfect size.  The patterned paper is from my BoBunny Double Dots stash and just a bit of silver mirror card to give it some sparkle.

If your curious here is the entire swap list for the year:
January - Paint Chips
February - White on White
March - Bargello
April - Faces
May - Scene Behind a Window
June - Circles
July - Washi Tape
August - Stamp a Container
September - Fall/Autumn
October - Gift Tags
November - Recycle/Upcycle

As always we create 16 to swap with the group.

Thanks so much for stopping by hope your having a wonderful day!

New Memory Box Dies

Good Morning today I'm over on the Memory Box Blog.  Is everyone excited for all of the new Memory Box Dies?  Can you tell?  I want to share a few of my favorites with you. First the Ferrand Heart 99077 it  is Beautiful and designed to work with other MB Dies the Grand Heart 98254 and Glorious Hearts 30006.  Today I am using it by itself though.  I did cut with it and use it as a stencil to add details to the cut die, love having this ability.  Also on this card is the Bengal Background 99060 it's an A2 background which is PERFECT, and it works with the Bengal Detail Plate Die 99065.  Oh where to begin?  This one is stunning and I have barely scratched the surface with it by cutting it out of pearlized pink cardstock.  To create a bit more drama on this card I used the new Studio Square Layers(Open Studio Dies are AMAZING) 30021 and the frame comes from Shaker Square Frames 30030, also Open Studio, with foam tape!  Lots and lots of foam tape under the frame and the heart.  The Open Studio Dies come on their own magnet sheet to keep everything in place, OHHH how I love this.   Lastly a little double bow was added to make it even more precious!   I adore how this card turned out the colors are soft and pastel, a nice break from last month!

Hope your having fun picking out all of your Favorites from the New Release!  Check back again for other GREAT Projects using the New Memory Box Dies.

Happy 2015

Happy New Year!  Did everyone PARTY all Night Long?  We had a lovely time with Family and I ate way too much junk food which is our tradition.  But oh my it was yummy.  I have a bit of salt overload today though need to drink lots of water.    I'm here with a Memory Box Celebration Card today.

Here is a little bit of FUN for you all.  First on Kraft cardstock, with the Snowfall Stamp I stamped VersaMark all around the edges with the little dots and embossed with the Imagine Crafts Black Embossing Powder.  This did leave a bit of a blank in the middle but I just punched it out with a circle.  Then I foam taped the piece onto a Black cardstock mat.  In the center I cut out the Urban Numbers from Gold Mirror Card and added a bit of Diamond Stickles around them.  They are so much more glittery in person it's hard to capture.  The corner bow was also cut out of the Gold Mirror Card and added on top.  And lastly it was all layered onto Gold and then onto a Kraft Card.  Pretty and Simple for the New Year.   So Modern!
