It WAS Balmy!!!!!

Well it was that was about 5 hours ago that it was a Balmy 50 degrees outside. Now it's 7 and dropping fast. I drove home from dance in near whiteout conditions from all the blowing and cannot get my arms warm for anything! Abbi is going to be very sad when she wakes up. She was convinced summer was on it's way and she predicted there would be some rain first but then the sun would come out! Poor baby she'll be upset to see all the snow in the morning. She did just inform me she was done with her snow boots, I could put them away they would be too small for her next year! Hmmm? I think she can wear them tomorrow!

So I missed the Feature yesterday because well Monday got away from me? I made this at the crop over the weekend! I used Dianne's Owl-Bert from justjohanna coloring him with Glaze and Stardust pens. Then I put him floating in the hot air balloon. The paper is Making Memories and Scenic Route. Then punched out lots of hearts with my heart punches and added stickles red and crystal on top of them. Rub Ons are Karen Foster. The Feature was Stickles and all of the other designers did an amazing job with their projects so check it out here!

If Summer Were Here......

I would wear this cute little dress! HA! Who are we kidding we're usually at the pool everyday! I don't generally go anywhere else! The mirror card stock is hard to see but it's the belt buckle. I wish I could scan silver! The dress is my own pattern. Papers are DCWV and Mirror card. The buckle is stamped with staz on onto the silver card stock and cut out. Stamp by justjohanna.

So in other news Abbi is home sick today. She's had a high temp since yesterday afternoon. She cried and cried she couldn't go to school today it was her turn to count all the kids. She was very upset they would give her job to someone else.

Cris had to go to the hospital in TN yesterday with chest pain. We were freaked out for awhile. About 10:30 my mom called, they were on their way home. Turns out he tore some muscles in a workout that caused an elevated enzymes causing quite a bit of chest pain. He has to stop lifting for about a week and he'll hopefully be back to normal. So that's a huge huge relief!!!!

Countdown crop continues 1 more day! Can't wait to get away for a day or two!

I WANT SUMMER!

Ok I'm sure I'll regret that outburst! I'm just getting tired of being cold all the time! It's not even February and I'm already done with winter this is not a good sign! So things have been kinda quiet around here. No school Monday or Tuesday for the big one! So she hung out with me. Abs had to go back yesterday! I'm just prepping for my 2 day crop away away away! I can't wait I have a hotel room all to myself can you whisper silence? Because that's what I will have for one entire evening! And I no little girl will come and wake me up in the morning asking is she can go downstairs now! Phew! Sleep Glorious Sleep!

Enough about my dream weekend! HA! Here's my summer wish since. I'm wearing my gloves around the house! I wish for Lemon Ice Snow Cones! Yum-O. And the weather to enjoy them! The lemon is justjohanna the paper is Heidi Swapp and the ice is Stickles!

Have a great day!

Kiddo's Home Today

Last week was one crazy week! At least a lot of stuff got done and now this week is my week for the most part. The kids are home today for the Holiday and Em is off again tomorrow. After that my time is my own. I get to plan for the crop this weekend!

GREAT news I made the Ready, Set, Create Creative team last week. I am so excited I've just now stopped grinning from ear to ear, only because my cheeks hurt though!

Girl scouts started selling cookies so we're doing that. Our PTA Holiday Dinner was a lot of fun even if we had to drive out in an ice storm. Camp was great fun Friday and Ana brought a new friend Cathy she seems like she will fit in perfectly if we didn't scare her off! I made Randi's Ruby Martini so things got lively! Sat we rolled our hangovers out of bed and Ana drove us all to Archivers to shop it was great fun to have a field trip with my girlfriends. Sunday was Em's Football/Cheer Banquet! She was excited and we had a lot of fun! That's it in a nut shell!

Today is our DT Spotlight over at Linnecards. We are featuring Inque Boutique stamps and the DT has made some amazing cards. Mine is above. I used my Cricut to cut the tag. The paper is Basic Grey Two Scoops, the stamp is of course Inque Boutique, ink is Clearsnap Fluid Chalk which I might add is on sale at Linnecards! The ribbon is Martha Stewart. That's all for today enjoy the rest of your day!

Zesty!

Have you seen the Zest Blog lately? WOWZERS the inspiration. And I'm not talking about my little versions of their sketch this month which was fun but come on you have got to check out what everyone else did with the sketch and also check out the January Gallery. The Lime Tart Designers are FABULOUS! I am so inspired by their challenges and their work each month.
So these were the cards I contributed to the sketch challenge. The first one is just so TART I used some Anna Griffin Fabric and Paper sewing the pieces on then cut some flowers and added the justjohanna limes as the centers! Glittering them up with stickles! The second card uses DCWV papers and a justjohanna skull. The eyes are colored in with Glaze pens and then there's a bit of glitter again! OOOOH The fun!

She's Sooo Stinkin Cute!

I know your scratching your head asking who???? Abbi she really is the cutest child most of the time. Except when she's in a mood! Right now though she is in her room with the stereo going singing the words to all the "Hannah Montana" CD. It's so cute just listening to her! It makes me a little weepy my baby is growing up too fast!

Ok so enough of that or I'll be blubbering all day about something I cannot control.

So this is my card feature today at Linnecards. Here I used Prima paper as the background and only water colored 2 of the hearts in the bottom right corner. I did add stickles to the little one. The 3 hearts down the side are from Creative Imaginations, I outlined them in stickles. The rub on letters and bird are American Crafts. Hope everyone is having a Happy Monday!

Chance of Snow

Ahhh we're back to being warned of snow! It's coming It's coming! I swear by the end of winter we can't hear the weather people talking anymore it's like the teacher in Charlie Brown. "Mwa mwa mwa waa waa mwa!" No actual words are formed! Anyhoo things are quiet here. Em & Zayla had a sleepover lastnight and the Tooth Fairy had to visit our guest. She lost her tooth while they were playing outside yesterday! Oh my the screaming and excitement over the lost tooth! Abbi speculated that she would get $100 for it! Emily, she's more conservative, suggested 25 cents. Zayla thought more around $10 since that's what she got for another tooth, but it was special somehow. It turns out the Tooth Fairy left $2. Otherwise the Tooth Fairy might need a Home Equity loan on that castle made of teeth!

So here is a wintry layout I completed. It uses all Rusty Pickle papers, I cut those stars out of one of the patterns. The dots are a Heidi Swapp mask and the flower is Heidi Swapp. Then everything else is ink or pen.

Hope your having a wonderful dry weekend!

So Much Better

Things are calmer today! After many long talks with the little one things have quieted down. She has calmed a bit! Phew!

So I've been stamping and even Scrapping! I have a few layouts to share coming up! Anyhoo this card was all Dave's idea! He was looking over my shoulder a few days ago as I was cleaning stamps and suggested the egg falling out of the nest! The stamps are justjohanna, Spring Tree, nest and egglet. The paper is Daisy D's and Basic Grey and the ribbon is Stampin Up.

That's about it things are very quiet here it's been raining and everything I've done it the last 2 days has been BLUE and GREY! I need to get out of my color rut! So I'm off to find some inspiration!

I wish I were 4 again!

How's that for a title? I do wish I were 4 again and I could stomp my foot and pout and make everything I wanted appear! Just like that and just in case it didn't I would cry! Ahhhhhhh I love being the mother of an emotional 4 year old! Today I was told and I quote "It's not good having a Mommy!" through the tears after I informed her she could not have candy! How do you respond to that? I am generally sarcastic so I say things like "Sucks doesn't it" which only makes the crying worse because of my lack of sympathy with her plight! Oh well at least she has stopped saying "Your the meanest Mommy in the world!" which mean Mommy that I am I forbid her to say unless she really wanted a time out! Hopefully this is just a phase or a growth spurt or some such thing that will pass and it will not last all the way into teendom which is when I totally plan to start mixing Vitamin-V with various cocktails just to get through the day! I'm trying very hard not have to go there just yet after all I will be the mother of 2 teenage girls and what do I have to look forward to? For those that know me going back know this is what my parents wished on me every time I acted out!

Anyhoo now that I've vented that I feel much better and just in case everyone thinks I'm raising mean girls. Here is a card I made for my oldest daughter. For Christmas she got her own die cutting system Cuttlekids. She was so excited she asked if we could sit down and make cards on Christmas day together so here is what I made for her. The paper is DCWV she loves the pinks and blues. The die cuts are Cuttlebug and Sizzix(I used my machine not hers, she has a really cute dog I'm going to borrow soon though!). The stamps are justjohanna XOXO big(jj mix). And the glitter is Stickles yet again! They really are loveable most of the time! We've just had a little too much time together as of late!

It's all gone!!!

I can't believe it! No snow, a big muddy melted mess! Last night/this morning when I left Dianne's it was warm and foggy! Today I had little mounds where my snow village was then later it's all gone! Not even the biggest snowman is out there! This pic was taken New Years Eve around 10:30 we were out playing in the snow! Fun Fun!

I made this Wall Hanging last night for the Wednesday Stamper Gothic Arch challenge. I shrunk the arch down a bit and turned it upside down then stamped it and added these wonderful American Crafts chipboard thickers! The stamps are justjohanna, circle dot background and inverse heart. There the same on the back side and I have crepe paper sandwiched between them. Also I added some rhinestones and glitter. They are strung together with wire.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Break Is almost Over!

While it seemed like forever while we were in it! There is only one day left and I didn't get to do everything I wanted with the girls while they were home! Yikes!

Yesterday we ran around doing errands then we went to Daddy's new office and went out to lunch to his favorite close to the office hot dog stand! After that one more errand to the produce store to stock up on fruits and veggies for the week and home. We went to the neighbors to see all the painting they are having done inside the house and visit a bit. It was a very pleasant day! The kids then stayed and played all afternoon while I put groceries away and such! Today is quiet Dave went to give blood and the girls and I are lounging a bit watched a movie and so on! I've been doing a bit of stamping lately. It seems I keep starting projects and finding them near completion a few days later. I finished this one up last night. So here I used Cosmo Cricket Paper(one of my favs), CI Creative Cafe Velvet Brads(very cool aren't they?), the stamp is justjohanna, Aldenville. I stamped it then masked it off and sponged the background on. There is glitter on portions of the buildings(stickles of course) but you can't really see it here. The handwriting is my own.

So today I plan to stamp more I have lots of new stamps to mount and assignments to work on classes to plan, challenges to do etc. etc. and I get to go play at Dianne's house tonight! WOO HOO! PARTY PARTY PARTY! I'll be back tomorrow if I actually complete some projects to share! No holding your breath now!

Happy 2008!

Happy New Year! Hope everyone had a great time and dug out of the snow sufficiently to get around! We did we had lots of snow play(sledding, fort building, snowball fights etc.) the past few days until the frigid cold set in! So we're in the house now playing with our new toys!

Here is a project I did for Illustration Friday the theme was Soar! Here I used 4 justjohanna stamps. Charles Cardinal, Earth, Hot Air Balloon and Little Cloud. I colored the earth, balloon and Charles with Sakura Glaze Pens love love the affect these give the water on the Earth is glossy like water! The basket is a Souffle pen by Sakura as well. The clouds and patterned paper(KI Memories) are embellished with Stickles by Ranger. The words are rubons by Reminisce.
