June Swap Card - Different Fold

The June CARS meeting is upon us.  This month the theme is a Different Fold.  I'm not sure it is different enough but I love the Joy fold it's a great way to play with patterned paper and colors.   Plus it's fairly easy to cut and score for quantity and since we are making 18 cards this has to be a consideration.

The paper is Authentique.  I got a pad of it at Tuesday Morning and just loved these little phones.  It was the perfect opportunity to use the Tim Holtz phone die as well as a Lawn Fawn Hello die.

Our meeting is tonight I cannot wait to see all of the folds by everyone else!  Have a wonderful Thursday.

I've added a punch or two and a die.

Perfect for the end of Summer harvest.
Hope you like them!  Thank you so much for stopping by today.

Hopping Down the Bunny Trail

Good Morning!  Almost time for Easter.  I'm getting ready a bit here and a bit there.  We usually have the Easter Dinner here.  I'm hoping this year we have no snow it's not looking good at the moment but we have two weeks so I am hopeful.
This card was created with Doodlebug Papers and a Lori Whitlock file from the Silhouette Store.

Have a Happy Day!

Birthday Pop Up Box and Gift Card Purse

A dear friend of our Family's turned 15.  We went to dinner at their house to celebrate and I made one of her favorites Ice Cream Sandwich Cake to take.  Along with a cute Pop Up card in her favorite colors.
And this little Purse Gift Card Holder. These were fun and they turned out super cute!  Don't you think?

Both items were from the Silhouette Design Store.

Thanks so much for stopping by to take a look!  Have a Wonderful Week!

Half A Heart

Happy Monday! I'm over on the Memory Box Blog today.  We enjoyed a day indoors here in Chicagoland yesterday while a little blizzard dumped some snow on us!  The residual affect is that the kids don't have school today.  Good for them they get a long weekend and a yard full of snow drifts and mounds to play in.

Yesterday was however the perfect day to get some playing with my crafty supplies done.  So I grabbed the Half a Heart 99130 and went to town creating some Fabulous Fold Die Cut cards.  I'm so excited Memory Box came out with a die that is only half a shape for this technique.  I usually stick my nose in my die cut machine and cross my eyes to try to figure out where to stop die cutting.  This is amazingly simple.

First cut your cardstock  5 1/2" x 8 1/2", then score it at 2 1/8" and 4 1/4".  I still like to crease all of the folds lines, especially on white so I can see exactly where the score is.  Next open the card up flat and place it on your cutting mat then set the Half a Heart die to the right of the 2 1/8" score line, make sure your touching the line.  Now just cut.  That's really it.  AMAZING right no lining it up or taping it.

I decorated the hearts with the Cross Stitched Hearts 99125 cut out of read and black cardstock.  The small hearts got foam taped to the larger ones and then glittered with Stickles.  The smallest hearts decorated the inside of the card.  I did add the XOXO from the Urban Lowercase Alphabet 98874 to the front to complete the card.

Memory Box Products used:

Half a Heart - 99130
Cross Stitched Hearts - 99125
Urban Lowercase Alphabet - 98874

I Love Spring! And my Last Class of the Month - Fabulous Folds

I'll be teaching this at Craft Fancy today.  I was trying to use my photo cube thingy today can you tell I have no idea what I'm doing with the lighting.  OMG  I'll figure that out eventually. SORRY.   They really look better in person, actual samples are in the store.  There are a few kits available as well.

Fabulous Friday Tutorial - Bombshell

Good Morning.  I'm over at the Bombshell Blog today with a Fabulous Friday Tutorial.
Begin with a piece of double sided patterned paper that measures 4" x 12"
 Score first at 2"
 Now Score at 10"
Fold each flap to the back
Unfold and find the center point(6") on both the top and the bottom.
Fold down one side lining it up with your pencil marks.
Repeat for the other side.  Flip your paper over and do repeat the last 2 steps for the opposite side of the paper.
These scores create an X through either side of the center square.  Fold in the two unscored sides in to the center to of each side.  Score each of these with a bone folder.

This will create an envelope look on each side of the card.
Notice mine is a little cracked on the edges.   I trimmed off some of the cracked edges at the end and inked them all up so they looked neat.  Some patterned paper will crack and some won't but if you know how to fix it.  It is not a problem for the end product.
And a Pop Up Diamond in the Center.
Now all you have to do is embellish with a Bombshell stamp, some ink and patterned paper.
In this card I have used the Lotus Garden stamp set.  Colored the image with Copic Markers and then added some glitter to the image.  I have inked the edges of the piece that was die cut with Labels 15 from Spellbinders.  Which was also used to cut out a piece to put on the square with coordinating cardstock.  Also used was Labels 5 cut in half and put on either side of the image.  The coordinating cardstock behind each side measure 2" x 4 1/4" this give the card a sturdy base.
This piece will fold and fit into an A2 envelope when you are done.
Hope you get a chance to try this fun fold for your next project.
