Copic Class This Saturday

A quick post with some of the cards that we will be making at Copic Class this weekend at Craft Fancy.  We are working again on Hair and skin tones. We will be coloring 4 different hair colors and 4 different skin tones.    There will be a handout to class attendees giving them step by step "how to" color each of these skin tones and hair colors.

Copic Skin Tone & Haircolor Chart Work

So if you've been in the store you've seen this chart that I've started for various skin tones and hair colors.   I'm having a fun time creating my little girls and guys in various colors.  This is what I have so far.     I am going to do an entire class teaching coloring Greeting Farm Images this month.  To that end I have been working out more colors of course, but how to go about teaching it?  And I actually think I  came up with a good idea.  It's a work in progress.

OK now don't forget tomorrow is a Free M&T over at Craft Fancy and to celebrate there is tons of new product in the store like Pink Paisley, Eco Green Crafts(new sample pics coming soon) and Tim Holtz.   Not to mention tons of new Memory Box(I feel a class coming on).  Hope to see you there.    Ooooh did I mention what a huge success our Garage Sale was?  Everyone loved it and can't wait for it to return........

The weekend is coming up quick.  Dave & I have a lunch date today.  The girls are going to be stuck inside is seems most of the weekend which is good.  Em needs to work on her book for publication and it has to be done Monday uggghhhhh.  Anyway hope everyone has a great one!

April Showers Challenge & D.B. Cooper

So this is my last challenge for awhile.  I've been having a great time but now it's time to get serious about class samples and break outs!  Wait till you see what I have in store for Copic classes this month!  WOOOOOOT!!!!!  Ok enough about that.  For the challenge over at the Creative Card Crew the theme was April Showers so we can see some May Flowers!  I'm all for that.  So I created the card below:

So I used some new Echo park papers and a few Spellbinders dies along with some SU punches.  The ribbon is PTI.  The stamp is a Unity Stamp * Rain or Shine.   I also added some stickles at the end.  Image Colored with Copic Colors are as follows  Umbrella R02, R05 & R08 - Dress YG03 & YG05 - Skin E000 & E01 - Rain Boots  Y02 & Y06 - Mans shirt C5 & C7 - Jeans B93, B95 & B97 - Boots E35 & E37 - Rain BG10 & C1

So on to more odd stories from our household.  I know I've mentioned this before but my 10 year old daughter is completely obsessed with the D.B. Cooper legend and mystery.  She was watching yet another history channel program on him this week right about the time they were assigned an invitation to research and write about for an end of year expository writing essay and dimensional project.  So she was very quick to get approval to do her invitation on D.B. Cooper before someone else in her class snatched him up.... Cracks me up because how many 10 year olds know about this legendary criminal? Ex. One of her best friends is trying to find a book on the Black Eyed Peas so she can do hers on the band, mainly Fergie because she's a big fan.   So tonight began the research into D.B. Cooper and the search for a suit coat and tie for her to wear(because that's what he was wearing when he jumped out of the plane).   This weekend begins the treck to the big library to find all the books she can.  And much like the Cival War we will learn and know much more than most would want to about D.B. Cooper.  At least she didn't want to do it on Ghost Hunters that's her current favorite TV Show EEEEK......

Thanks for stopping by hope your having a splendid week.

Wooo Hooo Wednesday-Lawnscaping Challenge #7-Lefty the Crawfish Story

You know my house is WACKY right? I have 3 children 2 little girls and 1 man ie. manchild we refer to as my husband.  They generally run around doing crazy things while I try to stamp and craft.  Well if you didn't you do now.   Thus the story at the bottom.

So anyway I've been hard at work on more challenges trying to get my Mojo back.  I'm really becoming addicted to the challenges.  So via the Lawn Fawn YouTube channel I found the Lawnscaping Challenge Blog.  Which I like to call Lawnclippings but I know that's wrong I just forget.  This week Lawnscaping(if I say it lots I'll remember) challenged us to use our Lawn Fawn Stamps to create our own patterned paper.  Here is my attempt at it.  I can't really do anything without coloring with Copics so it's not suprising mine is colored.

The set I chose to work with was Critters in the Forest.  I used both mushrooms and stamped a repetitive pattern all over my white Neenah.  Then I colored them with R32, R35, W1 &W3.  I thought it was going to take forever but it went pretty quick.  I stamped the hedgie and colored him with E33, E35 & E37 layered him onto some BoBunny Double Dots in green and layered him over a punched strip of DD in Red.  Added some Divine Twine the greeting in Kraft and a Jillibean Soup Corrugted tree that I brushed lighly with ink.  It turned out pretty cute.  And making my own patterned paper made everything got together really smoothly.

So did I mention that the family went to the Japan Fund-raiser Saturday while I was at work? It was organized by Japanese family's in our community and put on at our school. It made all of our local papers and way more than the 300 anticipated guests showed up. They were raising money for the Red Cross efforts in Japan. Well the girls came home with 2 crawfish. Alive not frozen and ready to be put into a Gumbo or Etoufee or anything. Crawling..... Then they went to a pond in our neighborhood and got pond water for them, ewwwww. Lefty as Dave called her; Emily had named her Carly but she only had one claw, sadly died today. We woke up to her on her back in the fish bowl. And Sam, Abbi's crawfish crawling in circles around her. Now we have to feed this thing meat she ate Salmon, some Hot Dog a little ham and I think a little of Lefty. Ewwwwwwww. Anyone for some Gumbo? See how excited Mommy is about this new pet?

Anyway that's my odd story for today.  Tomorrow I'll tell you about D.B. Cooper.   Thanks for stopping by!

Easter Wishes - Easter Anya

Happy Tuesday!  Here for another Challenge I have created an Easter card featuring Easter Anya.  For the Anyone For Anya challenge post this Sunday.  We were asked to create an Easter Themed Card.   I am working out skin and hair tones with my Greeting Farm stamps so this gave me some time to practice.

Easter Anya by The Greeting Farm is colored with the following Copics - Hair: Y23, YR23, E35, Skin: R02, E000, E01, Tights & Shoes: RV0000, RV02,Skirt:  Y21, Y23 Eggs: Y02, Y06, BG10, BG15, BV00, BV02,Basket: E53, E55 & E57  Not sure I like the background around here just trying something new with B000, C0, & Y00  Patterned Paper is Cloud 9 and Memory Box.  Flowers are Prima, Gems are Hero Arts the punches are SU and Die cuts are Spellbinders.  The greeting is a Studio G stamp with faux stitching.

I used a sketch from the Sketch Saturday Challenge Blog as seen below:

And the Recipe Challenge #43 from Crafty Cardmakers which asked us to make a Yellow Card, with Ribbon, Faux Stitching and Gems.

Phew it was all hard to keep track of I don't think I'll be doing all that combining again.  It's like multi-tasking on Red Bull......  Especially since all I really ever do is make class samples.   Maybe I'll be better at this in a month or so?  Lets hope it's really fun if not frantic!

Hope everyone has had a great start to their week.

Cutest Bunnies - Penny Black Challenge

Ok it's late and I'm off to bed it's thru the thunder and lightening!  Perfect Sleeping weather!  Have a Great Monday and Don't forget Craft Fancy has a Garage Sale going on this week starting today!  Stop by and check it out our classroom is filled to the brim!

Wow It's April Already

Can't believe it!   It's been super busy at work and at home with Spring Break and all.  We got the kids tons of Science kits to play with over Spring Break(above they are digging for stones).  Flat Stanley went along for the ride most of the week.  Even to see the new Diary of a Wimpy Kid movie.  The weather wasn't great.  But this week after they returned to school it started to warm up leading up to today where it got up to 68 degrees and it seemed almost balmy after our very cold winter.

Work was nutty.  We spent the end of the week finishing up March classes and getting ready for our Garage Sale.  The big boss went on vacation leaving us all a little jealous since she sent me a pic of the beach yesterday.  That's ok she has promised to bring back 10 degrees of heat with her so it will be warm when she returns next week.

Looking forward this week is mostly garage sale and class sample making.  This weekend though we have a big event and I need to do a couple of pieces for that.  Should be fun if your in the area stop in for a free make & take Saturday would love to see you.
