Wooo Hooo Wednesday-Lawnscaping Challenge #7-Lefty the Crawfish Story

You know my house is WACKY right? I have 3 children 2 little girls and 1 man ie. manchild we refer to as my husband.  They generally run around doing crazy things while I try to stamp and craft.  Well if you didn't you do now.   Thus the story at the bottom.

So anyway I've been hard at work on more challenges trying to get my Mojo back.  I'm really becoming addicted to the challenges.  So via the Lawn Fawn YouTube channel I found the Lawnscaping Challenge Blog.  Which I like to call Lawnclippings but I know that's wrong I just forget.  This week Lawnscaping(if I say it lots I'll remember) challenged us to use our Lawn Fawn Stamps to create our own patterned paper.  Here is my attempt at it.  I can't really do anything without coloring with Copics so it's not suprising mine is colored.

The set I chose to work with was Critters in the Forest.  I used both mushrooms and stamped a repetitive pattern all over my white Neenah.  Then I colored them with R32, R35, W1 &W3.  I thought it was going to take forever but it went pretty quick.  I stamped the hedgie and colored him with E33, E35 & E37 layered him onto some BoBunny Double Dots in green and layered him over a punched strip of DD in Red.  Added some Divine Twine the greeting in Kraft and a Jillibean Soup Corrugted tree that I brushed lighly with ink.  It turned out pretty cute.  And making my own patterned paper made everything got together really smoothly.

So did I mention that the family went to the Japan Fund-raiser Saturday while I was at work? It was organized by Japanese family's in our community and put on at our school. It made all of our local papers and way more than the 300 anticipated guests showed up. They were raising money for the Red Cross efforts in Japan. Well the girls came home with 2 crawfish. Alive not frozen and ready to be put into a Gumbo or Etoufee or anything. Crawling..... Then they went to a pond in our neighborhood and got pond water for them, ewwwww. Lefty as Dave called her; Emily had named her Carly but she only had one claw, sadly died today. We woke up to her on her back in the fish bowl. And Sam, Abbi's crawfish crawling in circles around her. Now we have to feed this thing meat she ate Salmon, some Hot Dog a little ham and I think a little of Lefty. Ewwwwwwww. Anyone for some Gumbo? See how excited Mommy is about this new pet?

Anyway that's my odd story for today.  Tomorrow I'll tell you about D.B. Cooper.   Thanks for stopping by!

This is fabulous! I had to tried to make a mushroom patterned paper myself and it just didn't come together at all. Yours is fabulous, as is your coloring. Love your bright, cheery card! I am so glad that you played along with us at Lawnscaping! And you are right, the Lawn Fawn videos ARE called Lawn Clippings! :) Thanks again for playing along with us Lawnscaping gals!

Your card is fabulous! I love it. The stripped-down cardboard tree adds so much texture and dimension. Thanks so much for playing with us at Lawnscaping!

I think the card came out fantastic.

I have not dabbled into Lawn Fawn stamps yet. They're on my list...

Cute story. Sorry about the crawfishes. Did you give her a proper burial.

So nice that your girls and community participated in a fund raiser for Japan...
